Forza Motorsport Launches Spring 2023, on Xbox Series and PC!!!
Turn 10 has finally revealed new details for the upcoming Forza Motorsport, including an official launch window: Spring 2023.
Today’s Xbox & Bethesda Showcase is the first time we’ve seen the game in action in any form since its original reveal back in 2020, and the first news of the title since December.
Importantly, Forza Motorsport will release exclusively on current-gen hardware. That’s to allow Turn 10 to take full advantage of Xbox Series performance, including 4K and real-time ray-tracing within the races themselves.
Along with the official trailer you can see below, Turn 10 Dan Greenawalt and Chris Esaki presented a short official gameplay demo to deal with some more of the features and innovations coming to the game.
Forza Motorsport will feature a completely overhauled physics engine, with 48 times the fidelity of previous iterations, along with dynamic time of day and weather on all tracks.
As well as ray-tracing, which was highlighted in the engine bay shot above, the team has used photogrammetry techniques and 3D material scans. Esaki also notably commented that “everything you see is new”.
Esaki also highlighted new vehicle damage systems, which include directional scratches and wheel damage.
The trailer and demo showed off a number of locations, including the fan-favorite Maple Valley, Laguna Seca, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Kyalami — making a series debut — and the all-new Circuit Hakone in Japan.
