Steam Deck

Anyone have one or looked in to getting one? I had a PSP a long time ago but it didn’t do it for me. The Steam Deck has me interested but I don’t know much other than reading from the fan base who like it.

Ive been tempted for a long time, I brought a switch about 6 months before Covid when I was travelling heaps and found I barely used it once I got stuck at home.

Now im back travelling I have been thinking about it, seems they are ~$800

Haha not quite - but my pc from 2016 is nearing its end and I don’t need a pc for daily duties. Off I went down a rabbit hole and ended up at a Steam Deck.

I’m 12 months in now on my Steamdeck. Have missed having a full blown pc a couple of times but really just for windows (I could put win 11 on the deck if I could be bothered) but haven’t looked back. Need to play with some detail down on some things and I still suck at using twin sticks in 1st and 3rd person games. I can’t build in valheim for shit but I can run around in the meadows and feel safe enough. I dock it to my 2nd work monitor if I’m needing to fight anything more than a skeleton but I play docked most the time with valheim anyway. Deck is great for emulation and I’ve poked around a bit from Galaga to Baldur’s Gate dark alliance from PS2 days. Even played a bit of Wizard of War from Atari 2600 days
