Definatly not crap. this is a great film. The idea of having a Terrorist as the hero and the government as the bad guy is very poinient for our time I feel. It does have a tendance to be a bit English centric. One needs to understand (or at least of some knowledge of) Guy Fawkes to understand some of the deeper cultural meanings within the overall message of the film. Its also not a film that treats the audience as stupid. It assumes you will understand some high concepts, and doesn't seek to dumb these down at all. All in all a really great film.

Yeah I saw it over the weekend and really enjoyed it, even at a bit over two hours it just seemed fly by without a wasted or un-interesting scene. Like Nige says it's very relevant to our times and I found it totally believable as a possible future to our current world state. It also contained the most flagrant use of the word bollocks I've ever seen :D

Bollocks!!!

I thought it was great too. Definitely some deep messages in there.

Not keen on the Sinead O'Conner look :(

Interesting thing is, a lot of the US audience does not get it, nor do they see the film as particullary poinient to our society.

Apparently they delayed the release coz of the London bombing a while back.
But i thought it was great.

Yeah I was a bit worried about Portman there early but the later scenes made sense as to why she was so thin. Nothing worse than a hot chick who turns into a waif in my opinion.

About the yanks, maybe they can't see the forest for the trees or maybe it was just the fact it was set in Britain and they couldn't relate. My other theory is, hearing the fate of the US early in the movie put them into a state of disbelief they never recovered from
