Bathurst!!

From the same bloke who did the LeMans Track.
Looks like it's a conversion from the GTR version? Dunno, never had GTR.
Looking forward the throwing the 289 Cobra around the mountain!!!

Oh gawd. The rollercoaster ride returns! Don't think I'm going to bother with the travesty that is the codies version of Bathurst.Barge wrote:http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=242978

C'mon the whole track is crap, it's only good to watch, not to drive
Kidding aside: it is a damn killer track - the top part anyway. I've never driven it irl of course but just looking at the guys going at it...But I'll avoid the cobra on the mountain for sure

I have done a couple of laps in the 'Stang. I have yet to get airborne but managed to get very light and twitchy accross the top. Maybe I should have lifted
The only comment I will make is that it is the 'new' Bathurst. IE the chase is there. With GTL being the older cars it would have been good to have the older track.

Ahh, but the current offical tracks in GTL are the modern ones and not older versions.Sam_I_Am wrote:I have done a couple of laps in the 'Stang. I have yet to get airborne but managed to get very light and twitchy accross the top. Maybe I should have lifted

Although it would be good to have the older Bathurst track as well

So its the codies track?.
Its so far off the real track at certain parts, i really wish a talented aussie would actually make the track from scratch for the game. The textures in gtr on the track were shocking, i hope they have improved particularly the trees.
Still it is still appealing to think of racing these cars there...

The descent is incredibly steep in real life, when you take a road car around there you understand just how much better handling a race car has to be able to go through those bends. When you actually drive around the place it puts it into perspective just how awesome the track is.
The problem with the codies version is mainly the rise and run across the top of the mountain, the hills and dips up the top are no where near as bad as portrayed in the codies version. And the entire rise to the top is wrong in the codies version from about turn 2 onwards.
Good to see the boys from ORSM are making a bathurst, it will be a great version for sure.

I just gave it a quick go, its a nice ride, I had 35 oponents on, damn that is a lot of cars but the graphics needs work. I also download the Leguna Seca (Probably my 2nd favourite track in the world after the Nurburgring), other than a few major problems with the road (after the big dipper there is a section of road with no surface you can fall through) its a very good ride - check it out here

ORSM version will be featured (along with a full field of V8s) on rFactor. So that's the place you'll have to go to get it.Sir Black Jack wrote:Any news about ORSM's rendition of Bathurst..?
If it's any bloody good, I'll buy GT Legends just for this track alone.
Greetz,

It's a totally different game. It's circuit racing 60s and 70s tin tops. In terms of how well it does things I don't think it's as polished as NR2k3. The netcode isn't as good but you'll probably find more avenues to run GTL online these days and as long as the fields don't get too big then it should be just fine and or dandy. Physics and feel are quite good and most importantly the cars are incredibly fun to drive.
