x850xt and those damn pipelines EDIT (DODGY!!!)

Post by Righteous »

Hey kids, was just checking out the stats on my new card and noticed only 12 pipelines.

The card is an x850xt and should have 16. It's an AGP card, but I dont think that should matter. Can someone in the know tell me if I hace been shafted. Cos its clocked exactly the same as a b859 pro. A much cheaper card.

EDIT*

Just found this. Same card, different guy, being ripped off the same way. :( Very, very frustrating.

Here is the product website http://www.palit.com.tw/en/products/ati_agp_X850XT.html

Here is the link to the unsatisfyed customer. http://www.overclock.net/ati/106650-pal ... lit+x850xt

https://www.pricepoint.com.au

Its not the retailer. Its most definetely the manufacturer. I have found a few people with the same problem.

That sucks. By the sounds of it they have just badged a x850 pro to XT...

Looking at the palit website I noticed it says "up to 16 pipelines" like wtf?

I've had a palit.. wait a tick my current card is a palit. I was also a bit dissapointed as it wasn't what I expected. I thought I was paying $400 for a x800 [which would then be softmodded to pro etc etc] but in the end It was a "SE". [shit edition :P].
