I've tried hosting with no luck, but I don't know what I'm doing lol. I've re-configured my firewalls in windows and NAV and used those ports etc etc but still no luck, why does technology have to be so bloody fiddly!?!?!?!?!DarrenM wrote:According to this

After more time trying to host a game I still havent got anywhere. Anyone got any tips? Giz what did you find the problem was?
I get the following message when host testing:
UDP Timed out
Incoming TCP Connection failed
Could not determin that status of your connection
I have disabled NAV firewalls and Windows firewalls, and opened the ports 34447, 34297 TCP and 34397, 34297 UDP on my D-Link DSL-302G modem/router.....still no luck.

LOL i just re read the thread. You did mention a DSL 302G earlier
anyway, Im not going to be much help, other than the fact that I have just got a dedicated server running myself. I am far from being techno savvy.
Is that what you are trying to do? A dedicated server?
my first tip would be to - as a test - enable the DMZ - which should override any other settings and open up the system to the net (eg unprotected, no security) and see if that works. If it doesnt, then its not your router, it must be another setting somewhere else in your setup.
