Ambrose to Nascar
Marcus Ambrose has announced he is planning on heading stateside in 2006 to race in the Nextel Cup. A big move, but a good one i'd say if he can find a seat.

Not for Marcos its not. Just a big step sidewards.
Would love to see what a top Aussie could do in NASCAR in a decent car. I just hope he gets the hang of drafting properly promptly, so he can be competitative at the superspeedways...

Yeah and IRL is massive too but do you see any racers come from there and make it big elsewhere? nup.w00dsy wrote:A step backwards? Nascar is massive in the states, and the money is just ridiculous and the whole show is way more professional than what we have here.
He might make lots of money but thats all he'll get from it. Im just pissed of that the only Ford driver thats won anything in ages is leaving

You've been greatly misinformed.pixelboy wrote:Yeah and IRL is massive too
No-one cares about the IRL except the executiveas at Honda and Toyota, as well as some gomers in the mid-west.
Which is why it's such a shame a driver like Ryan Briscoe has been condemed to rot there, and no-one even cares that he's racing this weekend...

Obviously he does. He has already tried Europe and F1 and just didn't have any money. As he said today it's another challenge. Good on him. Ford Aus has Brad Jones and John Bowe, who needs AmbroseVIPEROSI wrote:Very bad move...sure theres money and exposure but who wants to race round and round a track only turning one direction???
