Ashes internet blackout

Post by Gusto »

http://www.smh.com.au/news/web/ashes-in ... ntentSwap1
Cricket Australia has placed severe restrictions on online video coverage of the much-anticipated series between Australia and England, starting in Brisbane on Thursday.
...
Only the BBC website - under a commercial deal with Cricket Australia - will be allowed to webcast Ashes matchplay. Australian fans are likely to be blocked from the BBC content.

Australian online media outlets - including Channel Nine's ninemsn - have been banned from placing any footage of matchplay online.
This sucks being in Japan... Even the paid online services have changed their plans to just highlights and no live footate. I'm planning to roam the live P2Ptv channels (with or without success) looking for it, unless someone here has a spare webcam and tv..? We'll have at least five people here in the apartment watching it if we get access..

My mate just signed up with 3 mobile so for $5 a month he gets TV coverage of the series on his phone. It's a pity my current contract doesn't run out until the end of january!

I forget who suggested it on msn (just installed it and it defaulted to not recording history), but we're using a paid site that is still showing online coverage :)
