Farked Grrrrrrrrrrraphics or wha?

Post by Enforcer-J »

Seems my graphics are playing up when theres a bit going on around the track and on the horizon, so tracks like pike peak and anything with decent elevation changes are undriveable after half a minute. Is this a similar problem that other tracks have had with sky textures? Or is it a vid card issue? Piccys below..

Hop into the car at pikes peak and I get this...

then a bit down the road....

Doesn't look like a video card issue to me, look like you've got some bung textures.

Best way to test for video card troubles; play some other graphical intensive games for a good while (to heat up the card, 20 minutes +).

Hmmm......I am using Direct X 9, and I don't have any problems with any other games.
GT, the thing is other people don't have the same problem and it does it at Lienz too which is an ISI track....

You can download Pikes Peak from here (it's an addon for the Historic Rally cars Mod)

That car is off it's lips!

As for the gfx issues, I had installed different sky textures a while ago so thats probably what the problem is, that'll teach me not to back stuff up  .. Could someone post the original textures for me?

What file? If you put a sky texture in GameData\Locations, just delete it and the tracks will use their own texture.

If you want files from the original rFactor install you can get them from here:

I remember i had the same problem back in the F1C days. From memory it was something to do with the colour mode. It was in 16bit i think. Try updating drivers and make sure you have it set for 32bit.
