No great loss, their days were done a long time ago when other AUS based outlets finally saw the light & matched them.
Lack of stock of recent times was their final death-nell but I will always have fond memories of the cheap products we could get our hands on back in the day.

I think the real issue for me came when companies started geoblocking sales. I think it started with Mavic and then eventually a whole bunch more followed suit. (most notably, Shimano). So suddenly we had to buy locally for crazy prices.

Even when things weren't geoblocked, i reckon the manufacturers were pulling a few strings on the pricing. You used to be able to get a Continental GP4000 from the UK for half the price of local. Then suddenly you couldn't, and it wasn't because the local stores were matching the overseas price.

It's a shame really, as they have been pioneers in the online bike arena. That said it did prompt local companies to fire up and deliver their own offerings which has been a bit of a blessing.

I cant believe how expensive bike gear is these days. Chains and cassettes seem to have doubled in price in ten years.

i reckon this is really interesting. New Chinese wireless electronic groupset. Best thing (IMHO) is that it comes in a rim brake version.

really good way to update a (probably higher end) older bike with some new bling.

TraceVelo unboxing of the disc brake version here:

I'm watching this gruoppo very closely as I'd love to put it on my rim-brake 11sp Wilier eventually.
Apparently it can only be purchased in EU currently, I believe it's got patent issues (particularly with SRAM) in all other regions.
This is the 2nd version, the first version had removable batteries that got them in even hotter water with SRAM patent laws.

Another unboxing here

one of these arrived today:
https://tyreglider.co.uk/

picked up a random wheel and tyre that i had laying about to try it out. overall impressions are pretty good! Not sure that it's much better for removing a tyre, but for installing a tyre I reckon it will work quite well.

Noticed on AliExpress that the EDS TX groupsets are on AliExpress... pricing is pretty reasonable!
