LFS Tweak is nice tho some people don't like it for what ever reason

It was fairly popular pre S1 ... mostly because you could use it online with whatever settings you wanted. Most people had a XF GTI that could lap the old Blackwood in around 18 seconds. :)

Personally, I use to set my XR GT up with similar engine specs to an RX-7 (hence my user name).

you can still do it now in S2 offline/online you just need to have the same settings as the server or you will be booted, normaly they have the settings in the server info window unless it is pre-set like if a few people on here already set it up

hehe i know what you mean tho .. it was great .. now you just blow the tyres if you do that, you need to lightly put the gas on with most sets

I haven't given LFS a go for a while so I was quite surprised to hear how much better the GTR cars are now. Still not enough to blow me away but it all sounds much, much better with the gearbox whine and better induction sounds (well I assume that's what they are :)). I also notice that the majority of the racing cars have different transmission setups that seem to suit them much more. Proper sequential boxes and the like, great stuff.

I know this is probably old news to you guys but it was all very interesting for me!

i got in and had a play with it this morning...

I enjoyed it...

After trying a race in iRacing yesterday and losing 15 odd points because some pratt drove through me on the corkscrew i decided to try this again...

LFS still feels like great fun too me...

It is, it's great fun! Just needs some NEW content, that's not variations on the old stuff, every so often.

Is it just me, or is LFS development dieing? It's been months since the VW was first introduced to the community yet we still can't access it... lol...

Well after I read the official announcement of the VW release all those months ago I could tell we would be waiting for a while, no surprise to me that it is still not here.
The Scirocco will be released in Live for Speed at a later date which is not yet decided
Just another reason ppl have moved away from LFS & another boring addition to the garage. :sigh:

Flinty, I'm not getting any hopes up because when the VW finally does get released, everyone will drive it around the tracks then stop again. A perfect example was the BM car & new track. I'm gonna still complete a full year before coming back, by the looks of things I might need to take 2 years off :/ it's a great game I've just driven the shit out of it.

I think what would bring back the community would be five or so new locations.

with the ways things are going only s3 would bring back the community in a big way

but with the way it looks like the devs are going that aint going to happen in the next 2 years in my opinion

but with the lack of development the only thing i can speculate is that they are working on s3 in the background as they do not want a repeat of the fiasco that was s2 release, however in my opinion that whole fuckup was great for the whole lfs community as it bought alot of fans together waiting for s2

once again it took the devs 2 years to go s1-s2 and its now been 3 years since they released s2 and what have we got;

-f1 car
-fmb car
-a couple of new track layouts
-new tyre/clutch model
-a few car tweaks like new iterior+sounds

surely that aint 3 years work

I have been getting back into LFS again mainly of the CTRA servers and i have to say its still alot of fun, South City and the FBM or lower paced fwds with a full grid is still pretty exciting.

But yes +100000000 for new tracks , as Doso says there has to more going on than what there saying.

be too much to assume the slow work cycle to keep s2 people interested is because they have actually just been working on S3? 3 years is enough time to turn out a game. but surely something would have leaked?

Your probably right Flinty , but LFS is still great fun and still 100% easier to dig up a race when even you fee like it. I have a subscription to Iracing that i dont use only because i havent the time to invest in it or the times and type of cars doesnt suit me .

but yes your right S3 is a non event..
