i was assuming the dude filming was just doing it for his own sake, like how Norbs and a lot of others do.

looking forward to the post from the emergency room ;)
you could probably get a similar shot mounting on the head stem i imagine?

this post reminds me that i should have another bash at my cheapie helmet cam.. i've had 2 tries.. once mounted on the handle bar, which demonstrated that the camera is quite sensitive to road noise/shock, and the second time mounted on the helmet, but i had it aimed wrong so i got a lot of footage of the road :(

Well I survived, Got a few runs in. It wasn't too bad actually, quite easy to keep out the way of Trees and stuff. It was a tiny bit too heavy at the front, needed more counterweight. But I was pretty happy how it turned out 1st go. I think I am going to attempt to make a more permanent one out of an old fishing rod. It could even be about another 10 to 15cm longer as well, It was just shy of keeping the bars in view all the time. I could not tilt it down any further as the mounting bracket would not allow it. Something to fiddle with anyway.

Nothing like it really, This locks the Camera to your eyes, It's quite an interesting angle really, seeing every other part of your body move in relation to your head. I'm uploading it now, so I'll probably post it up within the Hour. And yeah, get your camera going, it's great for capturing moments, especially on the dirt, I like showing people the video's when they don't really know what it is we do. It gets them right in to it.

Noice. It looks so weird how your head stays still and everything else moves... freaky even.

What trail is that?

Holy fuck, its John Bowe on a bike!

I love the fact you are puffing at the bottom. I remember doing some MTB stuff at Woronora when I first got a MTB. We did this 6 km down hill. I reckon I pedaled 3 times in total. When I got to the bottom I was fucked. I couldn't believe it at the time. Seeing you puffing reminded me of that day. Excellent stuff.

yeah it gets ya going for sure. When I 1st started I used to hold my breathe a lot too, I reckon I have a bit more control now but bloody hell, It is actually something you need to think about, especially on the longer trails.

You look like you are going a lot faster than I was too. I was on a steel framed bike with no suspension, so it was quite a harsh ride.

Yeah, I generally don't like Unit as the brand seems to attract an amazing amount of Halfwit Tards, but jeez they are good for backing a heap of Aussie & NZ sportspeople to push themselves like this. Especially in the BMX scene. Kudos to them as well for that awesome little edit. They resisted temptation to cut away into more epicness right before he left the lip, If channel 7 produced that it would show the bike going up the ramp 18 different times from 9 different angles and then each in slomo and then go to an add. Good on em for just showing it how it was!!!
