Sebastian Beumi mentioned in the last RedBull F1 pod that they have 2 cars each driver.
As they have to swap after 20mins to make the full race distance with the current energy store used in these cars...
So they will pit to swap cars not tyres in FE... :wtf:

I would have thought they could recovery energy in braking to top up the battery but it's obviously not enough.

Instead of rushing to change tyres they'll be rushing to do their belts up which sounds a little unsafe to me. Wonder if they'll implement a minimum pit time to stop them from rushing it.

Is it only me who thinks this just isn't racing?
I mean we are now so used to drivers only allowed 1 car & if you break or beach it you're a DNF, this just doesn't feel right.

Also what's with the aeroplane wings on the side of the cockpit, ugly.!!!

First thing I thought of, didn't we leave running to the car during a race behind?

I assume this will still be the case if they stop out on track.

Jumping in a 2nd car at a pitstop isn't that far removed from getting new tyres, fuel and a new front wing in a pitstop. In fact it's probably worse because there's double the risk of a car failure.

I see that Matt Brabham has been signed as the reserve driver for Andretti. Good to see a young American driver on the way up

they look so slow down the straights. It's like they are behind the safety car. I think I saw 170kph at one point but they aren't getting above 130 down most of the short straights.
