That it does, I have been inspired. I've got a soft spot for the Ford TX3 4WD Turbo and almost bought one 6 odd years ago but the insurance was just through the roof (if offered at all) for an 19yo who had only recently received his licence back, so I put it off. Now the time has come to acquire a mean little rocket to hit the track with and maybe run in the odd hillclimb or road rally. So hopefully with a few of us on excursions we'll get this thread rockin :) Not that 220kw of Subaru goodness isn't already :eyepop: I might have to borrow a few of those lol.

*update*

Post by SE1Z »

Had the car tuned this morning, there were a few problems to iron out... but we got there in the end :)

Made a 30kw (at the wheels) gain over the course of the tuning.

This is all in preparation for my 2nd skidpan event this saturday.

Thats next on the list... and at a few grand... wont be until towards the end of the year.
Until then, I 'ease' the power on and dont stab at the throttle.
The clutch is a no frills heavy duty item.

When was that?!??

My dad used to race a Starion in group A, I get to take it out for a run every now and then... I'm in the Thornleigh car club by the way, used to be in north shore sporting years ago, when i was navving in rallying.

Me at wakefield August last year

lol, that's how I got into LFS funnily enough, someone on the starion forum posted about the game, i saw the XR and went hmm, Starion! and I came to check it out...

First time I'd driven the car at wakefield, and on ancient 16 year old left over tyres from 1990 I did a 1:09.8 at a supersprint last year. New sticky tyres and you could prob take 3-4 seconds off that, maybe more, those tyres were really really REALLY bad...

In other cars I've done a 1.07 in a 1300 clubman before, and can do pretty consistent 1:15.0 in my Lancer road car.. I've done a fair few laps around there though, a few years back (2001) I went down there for an open day in early Jan with a mate, there was about 4 cars there the whole day and the other 2 left about lunch time, so I probably did a hundred laps or so that day, lol.

Funny you should say that, I was talking to John Boston at a state motorkhana a few weeks back and he said the same thing, he's in Thornleigh too, his old man has been running motorkhanas since the Ark.

Starts at 9am, last time it finished at 4pm.

Not being a photographer, I can't give an honest answer. But there is PLENTY of room for spectators. I'm guessing a tripod and a little zoom would come in handy.

The skidpan is down the back, next the the 4wd track. Its down the back, on the right as you enter the circuit. :)

Shouldn't be much of an issue for taking photos, plenty of hill space and your quite close
