Ah ok, well I've got the full version as far as I know. Everything else runs fine.

Anyway, here's a track guide:

I didn't know whether to do a super exciting dramatic powerslidey lap or go for a quick one. I went for a quick one. It's quite boring to watch. It's a 1m50.299 :)

Excellent.

I now have a Corsa Gallardo and promptly did a 1.53.525 :)
Make that 1.51.775.

Go Big kev.

After watching Durb's lap, I might copy some exotic car sound into my folder too. Durbs lap sounds tops, my car sounds like a mixmaster on a slow beat. :)

So far, the times I have are .....

Cetram 1:48.1
HazelB 1:48.7
Durbs 1:49.6
Big Kev 1:51.8
Norbs 1:52.7

I posted a 1m49.599 earlier in the thread norbs :)

The only thing with that lap is that I'd done a couple of laps before so tyres were warm and I'd used a bit of fuel, and I also had all four wheels over the white line going into Chicago. Does that count?

Its fine by me. As long as it was from a standing start, I dont mind. Unless the others do of course. I doubt I was between the lines at any time on my lap. :)

I had a race around, got used to the track but didn't check out my time. But I was (as far as I know) between the lines at all time (if there was any). I do believe that's how it should be done, but it doesn't fuss me too much. I mean, the lines are there for a reason, right?

I'd say that's not a lap. Are you related to Billie Piper :)
You can pretty much just do a right hander there if you don't keep to the lines.

I think 2 wheels over the line is ok... Doesn't really bother me that much though...

1.50.7 but I'm absolutely ragging it and I can't get anywhere near the 49s.

EDIT:
Realised I had TC on and it was killing my power out of the corners.

1.49.675 :D Much better!

I hadn't really looked in the difficulty settings when I installed it. There's a certain amount of traction control on by default. I only realised when I saw that you managed to spin a wheel for miles on your movie from the start line. I was only managing a foot or so. I put the TC assist down to zero and hey presto, I can spin the wheels and I have much more traction out of the corners.

OK, would somebody mind explaining exactly what I need to do to get some engine noise. I've copied over and renamed various sound files but it still creeps along like a milk float... HELP.... thnx

OK, did you rename anything ?

I spotted that post and copied a couple of sfx files over but still didn't get any noise... tried the Gallardo and a couple from the Historic GT mod (RS Escort and Capri)

prolly won't get me any faster tho as I cant get through the follow through with my gamepad without doing a 360 or 720 or any multiple thereof :D

Yeah you need to rename the file the same as the .sfx one already in the corsa folder ( Corsa_A.sfx ). That sfx file has the paths to the sound files it uses so it just takes the ones from the other car folder instead.
