Re: Late Models At Lowes
me and righty just had an awesome battle for 45 laps and then i noobed him. He got me into T3 on a draft, then i ducked in behind him quickly, seems he got the tiniest bit sideways, just at the precise time i got sucked into the draft and whaddaya know, i nudged his Arse around and out of contention. Kinda sucked cos i reckon those last few laps were gonna be insane. bugger bugger bugger..
It really is a matter of patience on the ovals though that's for sure. I think this might be the one formula where alienism means jack shit. Everyone is really about the same pace, it just comes down to strategy and being able to stay on the bumper of other cars without losing touch with the frontrunners. Although even then if you do you can team up and catch. The Aussie Guys sure are holding their own with this oval stuff though. Gonna be great come a Nationwide or even Craftsman Truck series.. Can't wait.

Re: Late Models At Lowes
Sure gets lonely if you're not near other cars .... I just spent 3/4 of a race lapping by myself after i made a small mistake early on. The only bits of proper racing I got was for a few laps at the start in the pack and about 4 at the end when Darren ended up back near me. It was good while it lasted though

Re: Late Models At Lowes
yeah ur almost better off to lap a little slower and wait for someone to catch up and make a move together. But if u are out and alone by a country mile you're pretty much screwed. Once Yellows come in to play at least you'll get 2nd chances.

Re: Late Models At Lowes
some aliens do still pull away solo with trains trying to catch them, still depends on the line you take
Hz-Lab you don't want to slow down to much tho or you can fall out of the other persons draft also

I have a joke for you. I have a prediction that you are going to walk into a bar, my prediction was wrong and your wallet is gone.

Re: Late Models At Lowes
I started on the front row and manage to get a nice little gap while everyone was fighting for track position but once they got sorted out chased me down, I was getting shuffled back (stuck on the high side) went a little too high and ended up running against the wall through T1 & 2. Lost too much speed and out of the draft, this was after about 15 laps...... could see 2 cars that seemed to be working together a pretty big distance behind but didn't want to slow so pushed onCetram wrote:Sure gets lonely if you're not near other cars .... I was getting pretty good speed alone but chasing that little bit more got one wheel onto the apron and couldn't catch it in time and into the wall

Re: Late Models At Lowes
In a race last night, there a train of five of us trying to get the high line to work, with two cars sitting on the inside. On the straights, we could creep up on them, but throw the corners they would get it all back. So it is possible to keep pace with the low liners, but it seems next to impossible to actually get around them. I think the track is just to fast, can run full throttle no worry sitting right on the white line the whole lap.

Re: Late Models At Lowes
Hz, if we do get a Craftman truck or a nationwide car (i still think of them as busch series) then you will only get this sort of racing at daytona/talladega. they are alot faster than these late models. Lowes would change into a Speedway like it is ment to be where draft isnt an issue. and then the aliens will pull away.
When draft is the biggest factor, is when the field backs up onto each other.

Re: Late Models At Lowes
Just had another awesome race which resulted in me and 2 other dudes 3 wide over the line for the win. Unfortunately i was worse off and got 3rd, but there was not even a quarter panel in it. LOVIN IT!
