Cricket, Aust Vs Nz - Second Test
anyone watching today? Lee must be gutted he got a wicket on that no ball.
I dont see NZ getting to 400... which i think they would need at adelaide oval.

They are throwing away their wickets like there is no tomorrow. Stupid batting.

its still salvagable.. 4/196 isnt too bad.. specialy if they make a decent partnership with this wicket. But i wouldnt mind betting they wont get much more than 320.

If NZ can bat sensibly, they could bat til lunch day 5. But that is a big if. Thats one hell of a flat track.

Re: Cricket, Aust Vs Nz - Second Test
yeah that was brilliant batting by both clarke and haddin.
and i think that 79 by ponting was important to get himself some form back.. shame he didnt follow on with it and get 100. But just as important is Haddin getting a tone, thats gunna do wonders for his confidence. Gunna be very hard for NZ to win from here.. theres a chance they could push for a draw, but somehow i doubt it.

I tell you what, Daniel Vetori is one hell of a bowler. At one stage when I was watching today, he bowled 8 overs for 3 runs and a wicket fell at the other end, I think due to the pressure he put on. A lot like McGrath used to do.. His subtle speed changes and flight changes are something to watch. He may not be a ripper like Warne, or have a doosra like Murali, but I think he is a damned fine bowler. Its a pity he has to bowl defensively so often. And he sells his wicket dearly, unlike the 9, 10 and 11 for NZ.

yeah i agree 100% Vetori is a brilliant bowler.. he always has been very good, and is always bound to cause headaches when he steps up to bowl.

Re: Cricket, Aust Vs Nz - Second Test
Yip, without Vettori, our NZ cricket team would have suffered so many humiliating defeats, the last series in Bangladesh being the most obvious. Without Vettori, we would have suffered dedeats to the Bangladesh "B" team, he is the only consistent player we seem to have in test cricket. If we loose this series against Aussie (which is going to happen), I think we are the 3rd wort test cricket team in teh world, only Zimbabwe and Bangladesh behind us.
We seem to do alright in the one dayers though, and cant wait to get back to the shorter form of the game, hopefuly McCullum can step up back to his brilliant best and go on a slogging spree, and also fat boy Jesse Ryder is excting to watch once he gets teh bat swinging.
Ahhh, I love summer

As expected, they are falling like a house of cards. Lee looks good. I think St Clark must have shagged Ponting's missus. And why the hell Johnson keeps bouncing Vetori is a mystery. I still don't rate Johnson.

Re: Cricket, Aust Vs Nz - Second Test
he'll be alright i think.. needs some more exp in the test side, and some more bowling under his belt..
Lee was all over the place not long back.
I think, as sad as i will to see him go, Hayden has had his day.. he may have another 100 or two left in him, but his consistancy seems gone.. and it might be a bit late in his career to try and find form. Its a shame Katich ran him out in his innings, cuz he may well of hit a decent score on that wicket.
