Test Patch Z8 - online compatible (no VW)

Hello Racers, here is a new Test Patch : Z8.

It is fully online compatible with version Z.
You can view hotlap replays made in version Z.

ABS brakes have been added to 5 cars (as a setup option) so for now you cannot upload hotlaps made in Z8.

Please keep a backup of your LFS.exe from version Z so you can go back to Z if there are any problems.


Changes in TEST PATCH Z8 :

ATTEMPTED FIX : Flickering shadow outline on some graphics drivers

KNOWN ISSUES :

LX4 number plate goes through spare tyre
Flickering wheel colour when changing rim colour

CAN'T REPRODUCE :

Mouse steering only full lock after SHIFT+F4

Changes in TEST PATCH Z7 :

InSim : Traction Control and ABS are now reported in IS_NPL packet
FIX : Setup related multiplayer OOS bugs affecting test patch users

Changes in TEST PATCH Z6 :

ABS brakes removed from XF GTI
FIX : Crash in D3D8.dll (related to shadows)

Changes in TEST PATCH Z5 :

New language included : Español Latino (still need to add a flag)
FIX : Crash on closing LFS from multiplayer while tyres displayed
FIX : Shadow stretching bug on some graphics cards

Changes in TEST PATCH Z4 :

FIX : Polygon errors seen on some graphics cards
FIX : It was impossible to join an online race with a demo car

Updated wheels on Formula BMW
Implemented ABS brakes in XFG / XRG / RB4 / FXO / XRT / FZ5
Improved wheel drawing system including rotating brake discs
Improved shadows - sharper and ambient shadow effect now included
InSim : New packets to start / search replays and take screenshots
FIX : Player name was wrong in entry screen on entry or after replay
FIX : Added checks to prevent guests joining with no user name or ID
FIX : OOS starting race after joining autocross host in entry screen

however the new ABS system does work quite nicely, nothing like the old brake help thing and in my opinion quite realistic

I hope there is a server option to turn it off to sort out the men from the boys under brakes, especially when it comes to league racing.

It's flagged by insim. And it seems it's now been removed from the XFG, which is good.

I think he is just stopping work for the Christmas break and then back to it in early 09, just like the rest of us.

Re Forum Dude: Haha shit yeah. I would just prefer he completed an update before taking holidays/break, rather than leaving it in a test patch for an unknown amount of time
