It's great when the outcome is unknown until the last few balls.

Anyone who thinks ODIs are on the way out, and T20 in the 'new seviour' need only look at Friday night's game.

T20 is ideal for mid-week games, domestic competitions and the IPL. But when it comes to international competition, T20s are too short and not un-predictible enough. Plus you're paying full price for a ticket to see less crciket than you would in one ODI innings.

One Day International cricket FTW

Indeed and again today. It was dull as hell in the middle order but I never though South Africa were out of it until it came down to 7 needed off the last ball. Great finish as on Friday.

quite a poor performance though by the aussies, they should have hit more... and Hilfenhaus nearly gave it back to them again.. some really horrible bowling. Bracken is the only decent bowler in the squad. I cant believe they bowled hilfenhaus again for the last over after his previous. Id have rather seen my sister bowl.

I think bangladesh would beat the aussies at the moment.

Dodgy wicket keeping wickets aside... Haddin is simply not good enough with the gloves.... ive lost count of the stupid fumbles ive seen him do this summer.

Funny that...
Just yesterday I was think that if their current form remains, the Netherlands should chellenge the Aussies to an ODI at the 'Gabba before the Aussies take-off for the tour of South Africa. - It could be the Dutchie's best ever chance to get an ODI win against a test playing nation

The faltering of the Australian team is probably a good thing for the sport worldwide.
I believe that people are more likely to be interested in a game if it's going to be a close contest, rather than "we're gonna get tonked by the Aussies again"...

yeah indeed

although a better performance so far today....

im gunna put my flame suit on here and despite the 100 hit by Haddin.. i say drop him. Hes a shit wicket keeper. If they are gunna keep him in the side i think it should be for his batting.

Not sure there's a better keeper in our ranks though is there? Definitely not one that can bat like that.

They might have won but they still played shit. They should have had them for 200 runs but we just don't have anyone that can take wickets.

yep, Ronchi...

played in the 20Twenty against the west indies, got 36 off 22 balls on debut.... and in one of the matches he was pulled up the order to 3rd, and got the second fastest 50... ended up getting 64 off 28.

He also played in the 20Twenty here at the MCG i believe it was... against south africa. Last year im pretty sure it was he got one of the fastest centuries in demostic history... 100 of 50 ish balls and got 11 6's in it.

he kicks Haddins arse with the gloves too.

Yea Haddin hasn't impressed me with his keeping at all, I've only found myself complaining.

His batting was a decent stint, but hes not a good enough keeper I don't think.

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you finally have enough horsepower.

Fumbling, entirely missing the ball, he never seems to be in the right spot. When he is in the right spot he never gets the ball cleanly...."Never" might be a bit harsh but it happens quite a lot.

I gotta say I havent really seen too many problems with Haddins keeping. There's a few other guys that should get the arse before he does anyway, atleast hes making runs.
