go AussieWith the World Cup of iRacing now underway, a focus of ours this coming year is to build a greater sense of club competition and camaraderie amongst club members. Tracking our forums we’ve also seen that this desire is echoed amongst our community. Our clubs need a way to brand their cars in-sim so that members can tell who is on their club and who isn’t at a glance. With your help we intend on adding this feature in a future update.
We would like each club to get together with its members and design a logo to represent their club. In return, iRacing will take selected logos and place them on the cars in-sim. That’s right, no more blank cars driving around the track. Here’s your chance to get involved and help us get your club into the sim!
A good place to coordinate your efforts would be your club forum. If you find that you’re not able to produce a satisfactory logo, don’t be afraid to reach across the border to another iRacing member from another club for help. We have a lot of great artists in iRacing.
Each club will need to submit 2 logos to iRacing following the rules laid out below.
1: We will need 1 - 1024 x 1024 and 1 - 1024 x 256 pixel logo from each club. Logos need to be laid out this way for placement on hoods, quarter panels, and side pods. These logos should be layered (please no merged logos) and include all source art material in case changes have to be made by the art department to work with the sim. Examples below.
2: Logos should not contain any iRacing or FIRST graphics or logos. The logos should represent your club, not iRacing.
3: Logos must not contain any trademark or copyright materials. All fonts used must also be listed to help make sure all license rules are observed.
4: Logos may be altered by iRacing so that they will work with the sim, or to make sure laws and regulations aren’t broken. If logos don’t meet iRacing’s standards they may not be used.
5: Remember when designing your club’s logo that they will be placed on the cars at drastically less resolution than what they are designed at. Therefore something that looks great at 1024 x 1024 won’t look nearly as good at a quarter of that resolution. Always design with legibility in mind.
6: Any submitted artwork becomes the property of iRacing.com and can be freely modified and redistributed by iRacing.
When the logo has been accepted by your club, please send the logo Photoshop files to:
clubs@iracing.com
Logos must be completed and submitted by March 20, 2009
Some examples of what things will look like with the club logos on the cars:

Sweet - I look forward to seeing what we come up with. It'll be great to be racing against cars with some more writing on them in any case.

Quick experiment. Needs chunkier outlines and a few other tweaks.

I'd like to see the roo with a happier face, otherwise nice !
Altho I think the previous try was better. It's more like a logo.

Re: calling iGraphic gurus
There are 2 separate graphics we need to make. A 1024x1024 one to go on the bonnet etc, and a 1024x256 one to go on the side of the car. I've just been looking at ideas for the logo part, since I couldn't be bothered searching for free fontsHazelb wrote:Didnt realise it was...

Re: calling iGraphic gurus
No, the club name is "Australia", however, it incorporates NZ, which is why the black and silver stripes are on the logo. There is talks of the name changing to Australia / NZ. But we will see. text is easy to changer8response wrote:Isn't the club Australia and NZ?
and to HazelB: yep, thats the idea with the font.

Re: calling iGraphic gurus
No official change to the name in the works as far as I'm aware, but they've said they will allow minor variations. I interpret adding /NZ or +NZ to the name as a minor variation
