Re: Any news/updates?
Hilarious that he has come out and said that. They have run out of money to sit around doing nothing on. So he is going to rush his tyre model that was supposed to be super realistic because it was never going to be and now they need money. Just

Just goes to show what motivates them. I'm amazed he actually said that.

Re: Any news/updates?
Well I think the most frustrating part is that they had money. But instead of using it to help develop the game, they have fucked around and are now hoping to release bugger all and get more money. Ridiculous.

Re: Any news/updates?
Yeah, that's the crux of it; they aren't doing it (at this point) to create something great, but to make money. And that's the wrong approach.
Surprise, no sig. Now there is. Or is there?

These guys were really onto something amazing. LFS consumed the majority of my teenage years and i have some fantastic memories from it. But theyve just gone and fucked it all up. I will not be buying S3 (if its ever actually released) thats for sure.

Re: Any news/updates?
what a load of crap
What really fucking pissed me off was that they had dozens of really skilled people who would of contributed there skills in helping developed LFS for absolutely free but they didn't want it.
LFS could of been really successful if they had been such fucking asses about it to be honest

Re: Any news/updates?
There seems to be a mini resurgence for LFS with the oculus rift. I was reading through this link https://developer.oculusvr.com/forums/v ... =42&t=3628" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and some of the comments cracked me up.
Obviously it's a bunch of people that have never heard of it before because they are talking about it like it's some new game that's trying to take on iracing.
So by some magical series of events the graphics of LFS work really well with the rift. There's people buying New licenses and everything.
Too funny.
*I'm starting to think people here already knew about it... but here's the OC thread anyways. It's interesting to read new people's opinions on a game I've spent a lot of time on, a long time ago.

And in between all the lovey dovey posts, Scawen typed the usual bs... "Really I'm just trying to get the important things done and move onto some other things."

Re: Any news/updates?
So the only thing that they announced and shipped in 2013 was an improved console for the dedicated server.. Not a single feature.
Such a shame :-(

Their rift implementation is the best I've seen so far, so they've got that going for them I guess

Re: Any news/updates?
Someone mentioned on the iRacing forums it took less time for Colin Chapman to design and build the real Lotus 49 than it took iRacing to do theirs.
The LFS guys have taken that to a whole new level!

Big Kev has a Scirocco and he hangs on to his cars for years. I wonder whether the LFS one will be out before he sells it...

If the "new" tyre physics were released in a test patch tomorrow, would they still be "new"?

VW can design and build a real car quicker than they can do a pretend version.durbster wrote:Big Kev has a Scirocco and he hangs on to his cars for years. I wonder whether the LFS one will be out before he sells it...

Re: Any news/updates?
Some of the stuff talked about is laughable, right???
The tyre model for instance must be like the recreation of the universe, it's taking so long.

Live For Speed S2 Patch 0.6F released
After releasing test patch 0.6E16n the LFS team now released the official Update Patch 0.6F for Live For Speed S2. This update supports stereoscopic 3D devices including TVs, projectors, headsets and the Oculus Rift and is fully compatible with 0.6E. This patch comes with many improvements and fixes. (check the changelog below)
Westhill Update:
The LFS development team announced that while working on the S3 version they also updated the Westhill track. The International configuration has been improved in many places, particularly in the twisty sequence of bends in the far corner which is now more challenging.
There is a new National configuration, bearing off from the International track after the first right and left bends, involving some interesting gradient changes and technical bends. The scenery has been developed to a higher level of detail and you can drive around the access roads in the open configurations. The team is planning to release the updated track in a few weeks time.
Eric is still finishing some buildings and filling some holes in the Westhill track scenery and Scawen is making some improvements and optimisations to deal with the higher level of detail. After the Westhill update, Eric will continue with the S3 tracks he has been working on. Scawen will continue with the new tyre model.
