Well, go Clarets then.
Since the only football I'm interested in is foosball (we have a table at work) - the next time someone asks which team I'm following it'll be Burnley FC for sure

Re: Proud to be a Claret
Welcome to the fan club Markus !
Just reporting that tonight we beat Man U 1 - 0 courtesy of a Robbie Blake screamer and a penalty save from The Beast.... Burnley are Back
Bauer, you've been proved wrong nice and early, hopefully this is going to fill them full of confidence. Next up are Everton at home, who are rock bottom and I think we can maybe pick another three points
Get In !!!!

Great win for Burnley tonight. Your celebratory post seems rather low key considering the achievement

Holly crap, what a result! Nice one!!!!!

Ahhh yes, the local tech that wanders in every day carrying his Man U stickered toolbox just told me to "get fucked" when I yelled out "Go Clarets!" Whoohooo!
I heard the result driving in and damn near drove off the road.

Even better, one of the other guys has added a RE that he cut from another sticker to the Man U sticker already on the tool box. I am trying my best to get a photo before he bolts, but he is being rather un fucking friendly this morning.

Re: Proud to be a Claret
I just couldn't believe that we had managed to pull it off to be honest... still can't particularly after the defeat at Stoke where I was expecting 3 points in the bag. I have to hand it to Owen Coyle, the manager. He did a superb job with them last year and has obviously pulled them up off the floor after the stoke game and got them back in the right frame of mind. Man U dominated in the second half and we defended for our lives. The keeper was fuckin brilliant as well as the back four, just awsomeness in bucket loadsBig Kev wrote:Joint top of the league though (much to my amazement!)Johnny X wrote:Allow me to retort....

I just finished watching the game. The look on the faces in the crowd as the clock was winding down in the final minutes was special. You cant tell me there was a lot of hope prior to the start cos the looks of disbelief that Burnley may actually win was awesome

Sweet as. Any day that Manure scum lose is a good day, but it's just special when it's as the hands of clubs such as Burnley. Almost as good as Hull putting 3 goals past Manure at Old Trafford last season
This will be my signature until Dexter Bean qualifies for a NASCAR race. Keep chasing that dream...

Re: Proud to be a Claret
This weekends fixtures
Table
Home game against the mock scousers (Everton) today at 3pm our time. Everton got pasted on the opening day of the season by ARSEnal, trouble in the camp surrounding one of thier players who wants out to moneybags Man City. They got back on track midweek with a good win in Europe so could be tough game ( like all of them I suppose ). I'll be happy with a draw although out of all the EPL games so far there's only been one draw.
The great thing at the moment is that Bastard Rovers have yet to score a point, regardless of what anyone else might say they are our closest and most hated rivals. All you Aus clarets should know that nothing compares to the rivalry between The Clarets and Bastards.
Daring to Dream again today.... gl Clarets

Um.... how about the Geordies and the Mackems? Had any good riots at the train station recently? The Mackems went nuts at a train station in Newcastle just last weekend.Johnny X wrote:All you Aus clarets should know that nothing compares to the rivalry between The Clarets and Bastards.

Re: Proud to be a Claret
I can understand some niggles between the Toon Army and the Mackems
Rivalry between us and the Bastards goes back a long way, we haven't played each other in competition for a few years now. No doubt every train station between Burnley and Blackburn will be a battlegorund, any cars driving down the M65 will be fair game from the many bridges etc... The Feds are going to have a busy day when the teams meet again, that's for sure (Not that I condone football violence in any way) but it's been too long for Claret and Bastard fans alike to let the rivalry lie... I'm staying well out of the way

Re: Proud to be a Claret
Result from todays game....
Burnley FC 1 - Everton FC 0
Courtesy of a Wade Elliot goal and another missed penalty from the opposition, this time Saha stroking tamely wide. Another 10 man defence performance after going ahead but who cares
Moved up to 7th in the table, the Clarets dream keeps rolling on....

Current Table
Next weeks fixtures
Chelski away next weekend in the early kick off too. We did beat Chelski at Stamford Bridge in cup competition last season so fingers crossed for another 3 points
