Planning on heading to Accrington Kev ? if you are it's not easy to find, the ground is hidden behind a pub  I'll be off to Morecambe for a bit of sand yachting and to pay homage to Eric :)

3-0 wasn't too bad in terms of who they were playing. I can live with that :)

The next 3 games are the crucial ones to get some points on the board.
Villa, Wolves and Blackpool.
If they can get 4-5 points out of that it'll be ok. Anything less and it'll start to look shakey.

I think the usual suspects look good for the title. Chelsea looked pretty imperious. I wouldn't rule out Arsenal as my outside tip for the top.

I was neither pleased nor upset with losing by 3-0. It's a completely unrealistic assessment of where the team is coming up against ManU first off. Next weeks game against Villa will give us a much better idea of how we are going to go this season.

Other then the highlights of the premier league only game i caught this week was Leeds v Nottingham. Was worrie dafter the first 20 mins with an easy goal to Forrest but Leeds bounced back and could well have won. Some good signs if they play like that over 90 mins and with more players to return.

As for EPL, my god Spurs looked rampant against Man City, some crazy shots with Joe Hart definitely man of the match, epic saves from the lad who i was surprised got the nod over Given. Chelsea were clinical, big confident boost scoring that many. Liverpool were unlucky to go down with Roy's debut. Count down the days till this weekend now...

You made me sneeze from the dust coming from the bump.

I got a wait for Wolves to do it again, might be a while.

So in a classic thread bump, I’ve been watching burnley this year. While I had kept up with results, I didn’t have the tv coverage until now. Relegation does wonders as the Skybet Championship is on fox but premier league isn’t. I have dumped Burnley on Facebook in favour of watching games without knowing results.

Anyway, been a while since I have watched soccer and while I have enjoyed it so far, by gee the players could learn a thing or 2 about referee respect. There has been a bit going on in the afl regarding dissent but those blokes playing soccer don’t seem to care. Borderline bullying by comparison to what footy players here dish out. Seems if you can’t con the referee you get in his face about it. Comical at times and funnily enough, seems the ref is right most of the time when you look at a replay.

Haha yeah it's been part of the game for a while. I dunno if it really has much effect or why they never clamped down on it. I suppose it's similar to F1 teams harassing Michael Masi except it's 11 blokes right in your face rather than a phone call.

My local team Nottingham Forest is back in the top league for the first time in 23 years and they won their first game at home yesterday so the city will be buzzing.

The championship is a whole other kettle of fish to the premiership because they play a lot more games. You can be in the relegation zone at Christmas and be champions 5 months later if you get on a good run. It has been done!

Great result for Forest at the weekend but the talking point is all about Man U being bottom for the first time in 100 years. What a mess they're in...... and it's hilarious :)

Yeah our boy is a Man Utd fan thanks to his Grandad's influence.

His Grandad's been a lifelong fan and seen all the good times, whereas the poor boy's experience has been nothing but humiliation and pain.

Question for the English footy fans

Do you have a better season as a fan seeing your team win more games in a lower division or is it better to see them in the top division and having a more mediocre season? Which do you prefer?

I follow a few teams but I'm not a die hard fan of one.

The nearest team where I grew up is Wrexham (recently bought by Ryan Reynolds and featuring in a Netflix series), my brother lives in Newcastle so I follow them because it's in the blood up there! I live in Oxford so I follow them too and my dad liked Barnet as it was his local team as a kid so I watch what they do. I also did my degree in Nottingham so I keep half an eye on Forest as I was there towards the end of the Cloughie era and my landlord was a season ticket holder.

They all have their ups and downs so I get a pretty good spread :) but it's probably more exciting to get a crunch must-win game than being a Man City fan and pretty much knowing you're going to win every week.
