Mad Men
I picked up Series 1 & 2 low-res versions the other week.
Have also started to grab Series 3 episodes each week too.
Believe ABC or SBS may have shown Series 1 & 2 locally already but I missed it.
Apparently it is a bit of a hit in the US, has some writer connection to The Sopranos I believe.
Finding it quite interesting but a bit slow after 4 episodes, any one watched it & is it worth perservering with?

don't think mad men have been on ABC yet, or they haven't had it on iView

A mate at work said he remembered seeing it, not sure which series, it was a few yr's ago so maybe we both missed it.

I'm with you Flinty, it is sooo slow, but so many people rave about it. I will say the sets and wardrobe are all excellent, but I sit there feeling like a Gen Y kiddie who needs Ritalin when ever I try and watch it.

Yeah exactly norbs. The period way it is done is what keeps me & the wifey watching it. Also it is an interesting insight of what times were like then. How much have you watched?

About 7 or 8 episodes. I find that about 15 minutes in I am day dreaming about something, or falling asleep.Flinty72 wrote:Yeah exactly norbs. Re: Mad Men
Well I have stuck with this all the way & the last series has just hit. Well actually it's Season 7 split in half (7A & 7B) so Season 7 Episode 8 has just come out.
The whole show will end at the end of this series (assume Ep 13) & it'll be interesting to see how they wrap it all up.

Mad Men
Think they're going to be rushing to tie up all loose ends within 6 episodes.
Perhaps better than letting it drag on though.
Cheers for the heads up Duke. I might actually watch it legitimately on Netflix!!
This is a good watch, apparently "the real Don Draper":

Now that's a good point. I wonder if the entire season would be available straight away (for binge watching)?plastik8 wrote:I might actually watch it legitimately on Netflix!!

I'm a Netflix noob still, but I guess the "batch release" method is only for their in house productions like House Of Cards et al?wabbit wrote:Now that's a good point. Re: Mad Men
Answer: definitely not released as a batch.... Yet. In fact, NO new episode yet on Netflix.
