well you cant name the teams, they would all have to walk out onto the oval, and have punter and pup point to their players. You'd hate to get picked last in front of a crowd of people haha, and be interesting to see what the two capts think of the other players worth.

How about over 30s vs under 30s? Lefties vs righties?

Seriously though is country vs country cricket on the way out? Just about every other sport has a club or franchise competition at its core so how long till we have a Super 12 type cricket competition with slots every 4 years for the Ashes and a World Cup for the 50 and 20 over games? While Australia and England are playing 5 tests for the urn, South Africa could play India, Sri Lanka v Pakistan etc etc so that part of history is maintained.

Moving to that kind of setup would solve a lot of problems, you could use the money from it to support the domestic competitions and have separate leagues for the 3 forms of the game. I don't see it happening in the next 6 months by any means, but in 5 or 10 years time it could be the next evolutionary step. It would reduce the infulence of the BCCI, even out the teams, give a chance to set realistic schedules, make growing the game easier as individuals from new countries could get exposure on the world stage. I am not seeing much of a downside really other than getting everyone onboard and enough money from the TV deals could solve that.

His stubborness to chase the runs as opposed to giving the Aussies something to chase is probably his biggest mistake.

Well that summer was interesting at times.. (Whato, Syd Test, Afridi's White Ball Sandwich) but ultimately un-satisfying :(

No real competition, esp in the short game.. Always next summer :)

The great escape made up for it i reckon... One of the better test matches ive seen. I think the lack of competition in the one dayers and T20 matches etc were disappointing.

Yeah it was certainly a lot less exciting than previous summers. That said, I don't think Aussie cricket has got anything to worry about right now. We whitewashed the entire summer albeit against poor quality teams, but even still all 3 Aussie sides look very strong.

Tonight's game was great! Atleast the Aussies innings. Warner is fantastic to watch and Shane Watson is proving to be the next Matty Hayden... plus he can bowl!
