Cricket 09/10

Post by norbs »

Well good to see the West Indies put up a fight in the 1st Test in Brissie. Jesus! No wonder people are worried about Test crickets long term future. On that note, I wrote up a blog post a while back that I forgot to post until today.

At least Barath provided a glimmer of hope. But the rest of the team were appalling.

nice blog post Norby. I totally agree with the whole "test" thing. If a batsman can replenish his body with a drink every over or so then he could potentially keep his concentration longer. If he can hit a 4 instead of running 5, he can concentrate longer etc etc

some good points in there.

Yeah, same. They're scoring pretty quickly too - just need to chill out and stop trying to hit the cover off the ball everytime.

Wow! What ch is that on norbs?? I was out last night.

by the way - windies are starting to fire up which is good. Nash is meant to be coming back.. Looks like game on. Bollinger (sp?) has been bowling brilliantly to.. Credit to the west indies. Hopefully they don't crumble.

I was watching an internet stream that I saw on Twitter. He was blasting boundaries everywhere. I just hear he got out for 293.

Well done to the West Indies. At none for 150+ I expected the Aussies to score 600+. For Benn and Roach and to go through them like they did was a great effort. Watson's shot summed up the Australian batting to me. Arrogant and without thought. Still no Australian has scored a century this series after 3 innings batted. I wonder when was the last time that happened in Australia?

Yeah mate, I agree. A pity the Aussies couldn't score a bit quicker in getting to their eventual total. Still, a draw will be almost as good as a win for the Windies - they've done great. That final wicket stand has really helped set them up.

I hope so norbs... I'd rather see an outcome than a draw. Even if we lose.

Oh and did anyone see the bit on phil Hughes yesterday. I thought it was great to see them all getting stuck into the selectors for dropping him. At least Hughes has the right attitude about it.... He's already a star, can't wait to see him back In the side, I love his style of batting.

Bring back Hughes and get rid of Watson. Word is he is injured again and can't bowl. :shake:

I really like Watson, it would be a shame if he is injured again... Hes a really handy player to have in my opinion. But i guess if it frees up a spot to bring Hughes back in, then that would be pretty sweet... i get the feeling they would find some other useless batsmen though. Has Hughes actually personally pissed off the selectors?

I think there is more of a boys club to the Aussie cricket team than they make out. If Ponting likes you, you get more than a fair go (Symonds), if he doesn't, cya later. (Stu Clark and Stu MacGill are 2 that come to mind).
