Re: Mick and other LEGO freaks......
There's a guy that's built a whole lot of stunning F1 cars out of Lego. He sells the instructions if people want to have a go themselves.
The Chinese companies just take the instructions, throw in some fake Lego and sell them as their own.

A mate asked me on the weekend if I could print some FLego pieces for him. LOLExar Kun wrote:There's a guy that's built a whole lot of stunning F1 cars out of Lego. He sells the instructions if people want to have a go themselves.

Re: Mick and other LEGO freaks......
$999 includes the Australia tax. Reasonable for a modern lego set of that size and parts count. The Millennium Falcon retails for $1299 and has 1500 fewer parts. I've already been told no

Re: Mick and other LEGO freaks......
Although it looks an impressive kit I wonder if it's a bit boring to build. Quite repetitive just making lots of ship sections that are all the same with multiple decks and rooms. I think the interesting bit is more likely to be the top deck stuff and the engines.

The reviews say it's actually quite a fun build. Lots of interesting techniques and broken up into small parts to keep it moving.Big Kev wrote:Although it looks an impressive kit I wonder if it's a bit boring to build. Re: Mick and other LEGO freaks......
We have a Lego freak at work. I was talking to him just the other day about how many of you guys are into it. He told me his dad (my age) had been buying kits for 15 years and doesnt touch them. Just stores them in bubble wrap in those big 60l boxes. Apparently as an investment. His collection is worth nearly $100k! Fuck me, how many boxes of lego is that!
Do I need to invest in Lego as well as crypto?

I was at the lego shop today and the guy in front of me in line around my age dropped $2500 on a trolley full.

Re: Mick and other LEGO freaks......
I hadn't realised how lego has embraced modern tech. Our sailing club has been accepted for an adopt a club program for the SailGP in Sydney in December and we've been paired with the Denmark team. They have a program for engagement with the Danish team and our juniors were brainstorming what we could do.
One kid came up the idea of a Lego F50 and designed it in same CAD program that then identifies the parts you need for a custom lego model. Neat.
