Anyone noticed the Euro servers are now playable?

So decided to fire up LFS on the weekend & have a race or two, naturally the only properly populated servers are in Europe & normally with a 400 ping it becomes a pit of problem going wheel to wheel without having lag bumps and generally pissing a lot of people off.
However today I've noticed that the lag has almost completely gone, when I press shift + f8 i get an average of 0.20 instead of 0.35+ and I have had no problems going wheel to wheel on 32 player servers (cargames.nl server)
could this be because of the new PIPE network link ??? Anyway this means we can now play with Euro zone people without too much lag
& having plenty of fun with 32 player fields in TBO with some GTR cars to mix it up, reminds me off the good old days of S2 in it's prime when there was always a populated Aus server or 2
