Commonwealth Games 2010
Australia has had a very good games so far. We are cleaning up in the track cycling, even if the poms didn't send their A Team, the times the aussies are doing are amazingly fast!
I feel so sorry for sally when i saw the reply of her race this morning. I went to school and used to train at the same track with her, i've never seen her like that. Would of been a real slap in the face. I hope she cleans up in the hurdles.

who is sally?
I have little to no interest in the comm games this time around for some reason. Maybe just need to watch a bit more of it.

Re: Commonwealth Games 2010
Its quite sad in a way looking at the number (or lack of) spectators that are actually showing up to watch any of it. Most of the coverage I have seen so far, you could could almost count the number of spectator on your hands and feet (bit of a over exaggeration (how the fuck do you spell that word?)), all these brand new stadiums all rushed to get done, and looks like no one gives a toss, I have no idea if the ticket prices are a contributing factor or not, but feel sorry for India, cant imagine the media beat up running up to them have helped either, all the scare mongering about terrorist threats, and then all the crap saying they weren't gonna be ready in time.......
I love watching them on telly myself, get to see heaps of different sports that you'd otherwise nevers see televised.

It's a great distraction that's for sure. I was watching that race last night, and there is no doubt that she broke on the first run. Dissappointing sure, but them's the rules.

Was just watching the netball. It must be like a training match with no one there.

I think the world championships are in a couple of weeks so they'd rather race in that, and avoid amoebic dysentery!Gizmo wrote:Australia has had a very good games so far. Not much TV coverage here and there doesn't appear to be many people at the events either. I can't see India getting a big sporting event for a long time after this.

Another new one I meant. That's private money though.
But even so they only have a field at the moment and a lot to build before the race.

Yeah absolutely, I was only being a goose . On the flip side, this will help the London Olympics look a bit better hopefully. I am very much looking forward to the 2012 games.

Re: Commonwealth Games 2010
Awesome game in the netball final with New Zealand getting up for the win in double overtime , bad luck for the Diamonds they couldn't hold on to their halftime advantage but a great effort to get back into the game after being seven goals down at one stage .

Re: Commonwealth Games 2010
The womens hockey was the best I have seen so far. Watched it live and I was pacing around the lounge room. Some of them are really pretty too.
