Re: General F1 news
Yeah that's Ronaldo. He's on £190,000 a DAY. An obscene amount. He could play for free, he's already a multimillionaire.
EDIT
I miscalculated. It's a piffling £484,000 a DAY

Re: General F1 news
Things starting to sound a bit awkward at Mercedes......
Lewis Hamilton says Mercedes "didn't listen" to him over the development of their 2023 Formula 1 car.
"Last year, there were things I told them. I said the issues that are with the car," said the 38-year-old Briton.
"I've driven so many cars in my life. I know what a car needs. I know what a car doesn't need. I think it's really about accountability."
"It's about owning up and saying, 'Yeah, you know what? We didn't listen to you. It's not where it needs to be and we've got to work'," he said.

I was just coming to post the same thing, mainly to get under Norbs' skin. Both Lewis and Toto are publicly turning on the design team. Imagine if they worked for Ferrari.

Ferrari's Head Aerodynamicist, David Sanchez, has resigned.
He oversaw the design of the F1-75 and SF-23.
After gardening leave, he will join James Key's technical team at McLaren.

Re: General F1 news
Lewis and Toto claiming the RB is more dominant than their car. According to Reddit, this was 2 laps after a safety car at Bahrain in 2014. Probably not too hard to fact check.

Yeah Sky now have onboards from all 20 cars that you can flick between. Only thing I don't like about it is that you don't hear the commentary at the same time so something major could be going on while you're watching on board with Russell in 7th. As a result I hardly ever use it.

You wouldn't think he is an ultra-fit athlete / F1 driver if you walked past him when looking like that. #loveit

Re: General F1 news
The sprint weekend format might be set for a change. FOM and the teams each want a qualification for the sprint and the race.
Qualifying on Friday would determine the starting grid for the main race on Sunday. An Individual time trial would then determine the starting grid for the Sprint on Saturday.
F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali supports a plan in which there are two qualifications on sprint weekends. Thus, the result of the sprint would no longer determine the starting grid for the main race.
The new format could debut for a test in Baku in just four weeks.

Re: General F1 news
I think they're right to change it because it doesn't quite sit comfortably at the moment. The current qually format works well for the main race so I like that they're keeping those tied together.
Doesn't it make the sprint race a bit pointless for half the grid though?

Re: General F1 news
This could get interesting.....
Felipe Massa will look into the legal avenues to contest the 2008 F1 title - in light of new details about 'Crashgate' in Singapore:
"The right situation is to cancel the result of that race. It is the only justice for a case like this."
Basically he couldn't contest the result at the time because the FIA said once the end of the season has been reached the results are set in stone. BUT, big mouthed Bernie has said that he and the FIA knew Renault had fixed the result before the end of that season so Massa is saying the Singapore result is null and void so he would win 2008 and take a title off Hamilton (I'm not laughing inside, really I'm not).
