I signed up, downloaded Stephen Fry's bio, which is a 30 hour book, for free.

Then I went to cancel and they offered me another 3 months at $7 a month for the Gold membership. That entitles you to a credit per month, which buys a book (most books seem to be 1 credit) and free subscription to the New York Times.

yep if you went to the podcasts topic it was mentioned before. there are quite a few that are sponsored by Audible, but the main issue is the books locked by region.
eg another few codes, but there are meny others.

Having some problems - Audible won't accept my credit card details. I get an "unknown error". Anyone got any tips for getting them to accept my card details?

Is it a debit card? I have had hassles with a debit card before.

Ah, yes it is. My only credit card is a Diner's which they don't take. Might have to use Bibi's card.

Got it all sorted, got my free book of my choice (thanks norbs!) and then got another free book when I downloaded the player for blackberries. Only trouble was this second free book was called Divine Justice by David Baldacci. I want my money back! What a terrible piece of shit this is. Laboured, incredibly cliched and written for people who need everything explained to them.

And when something exciting happens (which is every chapter), it introduces exciting music and sound effects of gunshots and screeching tires etc. Awful...
