ARSE GT5 League Rules
Posted: Tue Dec 14, 2010 4:32 pm
Ok, so this is brief and will be updated. Thanks to the AAL for inspiration!
Rules
General
To compete in the ARSE GT5 League you must race clean and fair. Racers causing accidents or being a nuisance on a regular basis may be asked to piss off!
In-game chat
Whilst the race is underway, it would be appreciated if in-game chat (voice/message board) is kept to the absolute minimum and relevant to the race at hand.
Please ensure your MIC does not pick up ambient noise from your home as this can be very distracting. Refer General.
Qualifying
At this stage the qualifying is crap in GT5. However, whilst in Free Drive please respect other racers that might be attempting to get a qualifying time. Refer to In-game Chat and General.
Note: If you leave the Free Drive mode your qualifying time will be lost and you will be placed in last position.
Race
At this stage we are running 2 x 10 lap sprint races.
The tires will be restricted to sports hard or below, unless otherwise stated.
No traction control or driving aids are allowed (disabled by host). ABS is acceptable however.
The car for the race event will be predetermined and restricted to that vehicle, therefore, no modified cars from personal garages can be used.
If you disconnect, you will not be able to rejoin the race, although you can watch the race. Please refer to In-game chat rules whilst watching.
Use of track
Cutting corners is forbidden.
Railing / wall riding is forbidden.
Using other racers for braking/cornering is forbidden.
In the event of an incident or to avoid an incident, the use run-off areas are allowed.
If you do leave the track (as defined by the lines) you MUST ensure it is safe before returning to the track.
Pits
There is no mandatory pit stop required. Should you suffer damage/worn tyres and require repairs you may pit. HOWEVER, when entering the pits (prior to when AI taking control) you must ensure you do so safely. When you exit the pits and AI returns control to the racer, you should give way to traffic already on track.
Points
1st: 10
2nd: 6
3rd: 4
4th: 3
5th: 2
6th: 1
Penalties
Failure to comply with the rules will result in either a warning, reduction of points, disqualification from the race, the season, or ultimately in being banned from the league.
If you have a complaint about a racer please wait until the race is finished and notify the race leader or an ARSE member.
Make sure your complaint is valid, by watching the situation from an external view, before you submit a complaint. So, save the replay and watch it carefully first!
