Project Cars
Well this is not mine, I wish it was, but thought some of you guys might be interested in this. My Dad is currently restoring a Honda s600 for one of his mates who has bought it for a surprise present for his wife. He picked up the original car, which was a Soft Top for $3k, for that price it came with upside down pistons, just what you want..lol. But it was a bit of a steal as they have found some in similar condition selling for around the 8k mark. Obviously nothing compared to what the final value of the car will be.
In the meantime though he has picked up one of the Fast Back shells too, and they are debating on what shell to put on, I dare say the convertible will win out. But he's willing to throw about another 20k or so at the car, and he needs it done quick, so its well underway. I'll try and take some progress shots every time I go to my olds place.
here's what it should end up looking like:
and here it is in it's present state.. Both shells are at the Panel Beaters at the moment, so it doesn't look much.
Also, if anyone has any contacts to anyone who deals with, or has restored something similar, could you please shoot me a PM with a contact, there are some parts they are still trying to source without having to scour Europe for them.. thanks.

If only you posted this earlier.. on Australia day I was at Tabcorp Park Melton at a HotRod/Show and Shine event with my MEA sound guys. There was 2 there from memory 1 was all original and the other was just rebuilt, both looking immaculate.

Sweet as dude! My future father-in-law has one in his car port, but it hasn't run for about 20 years as he couldn't source a couple of parts I believe. One of the lightest weight rwd cars ever available, with 10,000rpm redline stock (unless I'm thinking of the S800).

Re: Project Car: Honda S600
This thing is complete now, I have some photos of it done, I just need to find them. I'll post them up shortly. The car still lives at my dads place and looks like it will for quite some time. I have been trying to talk them in to taking it to angaston for the hillclimb. But they need someone to drive... hmmm.. i wonder... lol.
if he is serious about getting parts, get a list of what he wants and I'll give it to my dad, they travelled all through SA, NSW & Vic collecting bits for this car, of they don't have it in left overs they sure as hell will know where to get them from.
I'll go hunting for the pics, report back soon

Re: Project Cars
So I spent the weekend at my folks place and thought I better check whats down in the Shed. Well, bugger me if there isn't a project going on.
It's a 1923 or 24 (i forget) Singer Bread Wagon, Believed to be the only one left in Australia, and 1 of 3 left in the World. Again this has been pretty much a full resto, when they got it It was a Complete but the entire timber frame was Rotted and all the Sheet Metal was riddled with holes.
So here's some pic's.
And here's a vid of her firing up, sounds like 2 cats spittin at each other. Sorry about the angle of the vid, just tilt your head sideways lol

Re: Project Cars
Then we went and explored the storage shed (these are not my Dad's cars, they belong to a mate of his who just loves to spend all his money on this stuff for my dad to restore.. lol) and had a look around.
Their next project after this Breadvan is a 1930's Race Car, That's gonna be interesting. Especially as they want to build it to Run in some Classic events, and both of them have already stated they don't want to drive it in them.... might put my hand up for that.
