Battlefield 3

Post by JTM29 »

Cant wait for this one. BF2 is probably the FPS that i have played the most over COD and Bad Company, etc.
This looks amazing :D

bad company 2 just didnt grab me.. probably the biggest waste of $80+ I've ever spent. Not because the game was bad... I just didnt get the mileage out of it. BF2 I played to death. I hope BF3 is the same kind of game play... BF2 was so balanced. It was always fun.

I've already pre ordered this one. It's very funny, I didn't get into BFBC2 much to start off with on PC, but recently I'm finding it a heap o fun. I've played it a shit load recently.

Just from the EA store online as a Direct Download. They are calling that a limited edition with some free content, but it isn't a physical copy.

BF2 was by far my most played FPS game... played in hundreds of ladder competitions. BFBC2 I really enjoy but haven't got into it like I did with BF2 but I still play BFBC2... the Vietnam mod is fun.

One thing I liked about BF2 was that it was purely about online play. There was no 4 hour single player story mode.

yeah i do kinda worry about the SP even being added in. I hope the MP aspect is not watered down. The teamwork needed in BF2 was really what made the game for me.

Dex, ever get into a good sqaud on BC2? If you can start a sqaud with a couple of friends, it's a fucking hoot! BC2 is like getting pissed... You don't want to do it with people you don't know

God this looks sexy! I haven’t waited in anticipation for a game in quite a long time but this has me champing at the bit! :D
Looks better than any game I’ve seen in the genre and sounds good as always.

Prone movement looks so much better too… been waiting for a game that doesn’t force you to move as if your going through a sewage pipe and actually (realistically) allows you to “strafe” on the ground and move better. Hopefully “prone blocked” is nonexistent… most annoying feature I reckon.

Also if you can have a fist fight in multiplayer I might just shit my dacks! :D

Putting a new PC together, hopefully its good enough to cope with BF3

I think I'll grab a new video card when this one launches too. The GTX 590's look alright, should come down a bit before this launches.

Last time I heavily played a 1st person shooter was BF1942, and I reckon this looks good enough to bring me out of retirement, comp upgrade might be in order to boot.

Im not holding my breath that its up there with 1942 and BF2. Needs a lot of work put into the multiplayer, not just a pretty one dimensional single player mode. I'm hoping for at least 64 player maps... ideally I'd like 128 player maps.

Unlike alot of other FPS games these days, DICE are using the PC version for lead development. No shitty console port.

Oh good. Most PC players have a bigger than 4 hour attention span also... so perhaps the single player will be more longer lived than COD and Bad Company titles.

I kinda hope it's a short SP campaign. BF1942 and BF2 were almost entirely MP games.. I worry that if the SP is too long, then they have spent a majority of their efforts on that instead of the MP aspect. If they have put in a big effort for both mind you i'd be happy. BFBC2 was a little off the mark in terms of the balance of multiplayer in some aspects... on the surface I liked it! But after several hours of gaming there was more that annoyed me than other BF titles. The pretty graphics stop impressing you after about 20 mins and you start being more concerned about the game play. I honestly hope its fully sick! Just in this day an age in PC gaming, I'm not holding my breath.

Anyone else playing this?

http://battlefield.play4free.com/en/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Basically a free version of battlefield 2 from what I can gather. Just dumbed down a bit I think. 32 Players etc. Still, for free is good.

Played it for a little bit, was lagging to hard to kill anyone... No reason to play that when i have BC2 sitting here.
