Re: Battlefield 3
Maybe so, but it's still a bit fun to run around on old BF2 maps. I haven't had any luck getting my copy of BF2 to run under Windows 7 Pro 64, so I'm enjoying it.

Word on the street is BF3 will only be avaliable online via EA's new "Origin" service. No Steam

Re: Battlefield 3
Might actually get a physical copy then...
I don't want to have games all around the place on different sites, steam is enough for me.

LOL - oops. Epic fail!
I meant games!!
Unfortunately not an iPhone fail, but rather an exhausted dad from sitting up all night in hospital with his 3 yr old

Re: Battlefield 3
Open Beta starts tonight for anyone who's pre ordered. Only 2 and a half hours to go....
Also, for anyone joining in the BETA, nividia have released new drivers that are supposedly up to 38% quicker for BF3 than there last set of drivers.
http://www.geforce.com/News/articles/nv ... 3-released" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It think ATI have done the same.
It's a big game this one, that will sell a lot of hardware. I'm not surprised their trying to optimize their cards to be the "must haves" for this game.

Re: Battlefield 3
All came down nice a quick off origin. Up and running in no time. My 285 GTX was struggling though. Need to throw some pennies down in the next month to upgrade this old girl.
I'm looking forward to conquest mode and some vehicles, it's definitely a step up from BC2, but it's not the full experience till you get some vehicles in there.

Re: Battlefield 3
Played the beta for a few hours now and Im loving it. The sound is awesome, especially in the subway system where everything is echoing around and stuff exploding everywhere. Graphics are great and it runs very smoothly on my PC. The game play is awesome, I love the feel of the guns and the movement is very fluid.
There are a lot of bugs but that can be expected in beta, they aren't major things. Can't wait for the release
