I watched s02e01 last night. It was shithouse. Hoping for a lot more from ep 2.

In a show about doing things on peoples lists he needs to do them or it's just a build up to nothing. His feelings/reaction after doing something he doesn't want to would give the show some value. The "desert" island was a waste of time. They really missed the boat there. Should have stuck him on a remote island by himself with a minimum of food and water, video camera for a journal and a phone, then come back 3-4 days later.

in my opinion it would work a lot better if Ricky was with him getting him to do the stuff. Merchant is a waste of space, so they can fuck him off.

i pissed myself quite a few times in ep3, especially when he met the ladyboys and they dressed him up as a woman. I think he also invented a new word when he said when he meets the ladyboys he'll be looking for signs of 'bloke-idge'.

the new one in Africa was great, he had his own caravan after pulling one over Ricky so he wasn't as grumpy. It was just him being a goose.

this is where he confessed to Ricky, it's a bit of a spoiler if you haven't watched it.

On Gervais blog:

"It's the end of An Idiot Abroad I'm afraid. There won't be a third series but we might do a special. Not sure yet, but working on it."

:(

Re: hosting golden globes again next year

"The outrage I caused was of course, as usual, totally out of proportion to the things I said. I don't think anyone had any right to be offended but they were. This year I'm going to make sure their offence is completely justified."

I've been a pretty big fan of Karl since the Politics DVD came out. Ricky sits down to chat with him in the special features. The two of em are making a new series at the moment. Karl in his first acting role. Ricky has been tweeting about it, apparently he was surprised that Karl can actually act.

i watched the first episode of season 3 last night, and it was tough to sit through. Karl was almost unwatchable because his constant whinging was doubled having Warwick there. I might give it one more episode but if it's the same i won't bother with the others.

I am surprised you got that far. The whining is what drove me mad.

There is a bit of a rumour doing the rounds that a lot of the lines attributed to KP are actually written by Gervais and Merchant. Anyone else heard this?

I enjoyed the first 2 eps but some of the stuff Karl says, particularly in the 2nd episode, is a bit beyond cringeworthy. He's coming across more as a rude, moaning c**t than a funny ignoramus.

I think he really needs Ricky with him to counter his personality and make it work. Warwick is there as an opposite, but they don't seem to like each other which makes it uncomfortable.

Just watched ep2.
Much better than the 1st, seems as though it's gearing up for Karl to be the good guy and Warwick to be the whinger!
