I concur. So good to see the ball doing something and batsmen having to work for their runs. Warner has impressed me. I thought he was just a blaster, but he has left the good balls and belted the bad.

If they lose this, it would be a great time for a broom to be put through the team. What's to lose? Tying a series against the 8th best test team, jesus.

So I haven't kept up to date with the cricket for the past year or so...

Where's Watson?
Where's Johnson?
Where's Stewy Clark?

Kiwi's will feel ripped off if they lose. That last DRS decision seemed to be wrong.

I know. It doesn't happen often but when you get 4 or 5 days coming down to the wire like this it is epic.

Well done kiwis. Bloody hopeless Aussies with the bat except for Warner! Nice to see him carry his bat.

Yeah, congrats to the kiwis.

One assumes that Australia is going to get hammered by India.

So how do you fix it? Presumably Hughes will be dropped to fit Watson back in when he's fit. Khawaja out for Marsh (though I think they'd be better served ditching Ponting for Marsh and keeping Khawaja).

Tim Paine in for Haddin?

Does Johnson deserve a return over Starc?

Cant believe it TBH. Had thought it was a forgone conclusion again after the position Aussie were in. Get home just now to hear we won.
First time in 20 years or so, and probably wont be another 20 years til the next one.

Half your team should be taken out back and shot for losing to us, we are rubbish!

Johnson is out for the season so he will not be back - Starc likely to be replaced by Ryan Harris for Melbourne.
Hughes for Watson presumably, not sure about anyone else.

There are going to be ups and downs with such a new team but there does seem to be more fight and pride in the team with Clarke as captain. Not blaming Ponting for the way that tailed off though under his reign, he must of been so fed up with the complete lack of bowling firepower at his disposal there last season. Notice the lack of short covers and short midwickets this season compared the last few? More bowler friendly conditions sure but at least we have bowlers now who can hit the edge and beat batsmen, that can bowl dangerous deliveries and get batsmen out rather than plugging along till they make a mistake themselves. That alone makes things much more promising. Craig McDermott seems to be having a positive influence there.
The batting is periously soft though, not something that Watson or Marsh is likely to fix either but can hopefully help.

As for India, they struggled to beat the West Indies at home very recently so they are not world beaters, especially on the bowling side, a lot of their supporters are saying things very similar to the Aussie ones about their respective teams. They have the big batting names and Dravid has been very good lately but the rest have not been great so it is going to be interesting.
