On the subject of battery usage, anyone tried underclocking? I've had my SGS2 at 800mhz for the last 12 hours and battery is only down to 65% which is the best I've ever seen from it, it has been a fairly light usage day and I'll give it a few days to evaluate usage but it looks promising so far.

Interesting. might look into it.
I think i have found the reason for my battery issues

Words with friends.

its seriously bad on batteries. it uses more battery than the screen when its run.

Anything that accesses data while on idle will smash your battery. That's definitely 1 app that does that.

All that and it was a bloody app haha.
AOSP roms will have better battery life, at least that's how it is on my Desire with Sense but it sounds like they have a little ways to go on the S2 just yet if they have camera issues etc.
I simply won't buy a new android phone in future that doesn't have a high quality aosp rom for it.

I didnt even think about it being words with friends, but at tafe today a friendwith an sgs 2 whos beeen boasting about her battery life was playing for the first time and hers went to shit.
slightly annoying.

Makes sense for a rom to be better if its built using the sdi. Still a newish phone I guess.

The HD2 was in development for a year before it started to shine. ROMs take time to be perfected.

Sent from my HTC HD2 - Hyperdroid.

i just installed this ROM, it's very nice, based on 2.3.5. It also has the new music player from Icecream Sandwich http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... ?t=1194765" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Something must be going on with your phone, i can leave mine off charge with minimal usage for over a day and only loose 10-15% battery.

What's your signal quality like? Also, checking every 5 minutes to see if your battery is draining, drains your battery (if that's what you're doing). It's called new gadget syndrome!

Playing music and driving a set of headphones will drain the battery for sure, I'd guess probably 50-100ma of drain driving the phones.

Launcher Pro hasn't been updated in AGES! Go Launcher here too, it's very user friendly and loads of icons available. Can also use your Launcher Pro backgrounds etc.

Thanks for the tip on the GO launcher and additional apps. Amazing stuff!

Its now taken over form the stock Sence as much as it can for a launcher and not having to root the phone. Loving the customisation of the launcher and the unlocker.

so I found something interesting yesterday.

my phone was dead by 1pm. So i turned off Data. it eventually died at 8:30pm that night. So there is a program thats just sucking my data. not sure what it is, i have turned everything i can possibly find to not check the internet every 5 seconds to never or once a day max.

today i had data off, but let the wifi on, and the battery went down again. So its obviously some app thats draining it. :|
