Re: watches
Everytime I browse the latest posts in this thread, I'm reminded to get the battery replaced in my watch. I've only been meaning to do it since the 1st page...

Yep. Quite a different watch for me. All my others are tool watches. This is the fist dress type one. Well at least since I was a kid.

It's one of those watches that is meant to charge the battery with your movement. But when you don't wear it for a year, they tend to go flatDexterPunk wrote:You should probably get a nice automatic that doesn't need a battery!

Still the best "bang for buck" quality watch on the market. If it was Swiss it would cost $1500+.Nigel wrote:Yep. Quite a different watch for me. All my others are tool watches. This is the fist dress type one. Well at least since I was a kid.

Re: watches
There's a whole range of JDM's with that movement. And a lot of them are just gorgeous watches. This one is the cheaper of the lot, and I can only think that it's because it's a little more basic in design, but that to me is exactly why it's nice.
It helps to highlight the little details. I love the little diamond on the end of the second hand, and the font style used on 'Automatic'.
This for example is about $930 AUD on sale from Seiya Japan, same movement, and I don't actually think it's as nice.

Re: watches
The sarb033 hasn't been off wrist since I bought it. Part of that is the horween strap, and the other is the watch size. It's just sitting really comfortably on wrist.

How's the accuracy going? I can't fault mine. I don't wear it long enough at a time to ever notice a gain/loss.

Re: watches
Most of what I've read says that 6R15Cs lose time until you service them. Then they really start to sing. But I'd live with it for a year if you wear it regularly. It's still bedding in.
Losing that much time is apparently quite normal.

Ok did a better test. Ie not from memory.
+5 in 3 days, so a little over 1.5 seconds a day. Happy with that.

I subscribe to this channel, mostly for the unique presenters:
I'm loving the new Fortis Aeromaster steel automatic.

Re: watches
Ok so decided to buy a clock and strap it to my wrist.
Strap is rubbish but the movement is ok. Seiko hand-winding and hacking. Feels a little plasticy but for $150 it's pretty good. Would have been pissed if I had paid full price. $400 + is way way too much for it.
