norbs, can you ask your mate if Project C.A.R.S' pivot point is correctly located and varies position with loss of traction. It feels constantly centre pivoted to me.

Well, he is still shitty with me, and probably with some justification. I sent him a text and he said "havent done a lot of testing, but play with SOP"

Means fuck all to me. Give it a few more days and I might get a better answer. :)

He is talking FFB. I don't care about the FFB, I am talking if you oversteer the pivot point should move forwards and the opposite for understeer. The way it is it makes it feel a little unnatural and too easy to recover from MASSIVE mistakes. It also stops you doing big slides as it just wants to grip up, the tyre model is fine (similar to AC/rF2) I think the pivot point is stopping it from feeling realistic to me. I felt this in some R3E cars (maybe all??).

That is as negative as I am going to get with regards to this game, don't take it the wrong way. I see why you like it.

Ok, well leave it a few days and I will ask him again.

I gave him a thrashing on the phone yesterday, and probably over stepped the mark. Happens all the fucking time because I apparently dont understand what he is telling. It is hard to understand something you have no interest in. I just want to race my mates. He wants to pull each game apart.

HAHAHHA, yeah. I'm on your side. I am certainly interested in WHY things feel the way they do though.

Rene Rast is pretty happy with how realistic it is.

If you are under the limit on entry it feels good. On the ragged edge the rotation feels a bit off, that is all.

LOL. It only happens when traction is lost, like it moves to make it easier to recover. It also means it slides strangely. Try and do donuts or drift and you can feel it. It just as easily be a large overlap in lateral and longitudinal grip forces causing it though but if that was the case I think it would drift easier. TBH I will probably never know because I CBF caring any more.

There is a reason it is easy compared to every other sim, not sure what it is but I would say they did it to capture the essence of driving without it being frustrating because its too realistic. It is hard to get a feel for a game that is very realistic as we all know, it just means you can pick up the game and have a bit of fun.

in my opinion Bob thinks its the ducks nuts purely because of the adjustable FFB and he is an old school driver that needs that. in my opinion GSCE is probably the best in subjective handling/physics but the FFB and controls are a pain to get right and the interface is a POS.

Oh dont worry, he doesnt think it is the ducks guts. Just easier to dial in the feel of the cars apparently.

Oh, by the way, we had a straw pole just before you joined on Friday night and everyone reckons AC is easier to drive since the patch. The Nissan GTR feels way better at Nurby to me now.

That's funny, the cars have less mechanical grip. What did change was the FFB, default is how I have always run it.. You should listen :P

Funny, I am now back to AC more than PCars since the latest patch with the better feeling cars and better AI.

Slightly Mad Studios have released a new monthly “On Demand” series Project CARS DLC pack.
This latest car pack for Project CARS is called Old vs.New. The add-on pack includes six cars pairing up as a classic and modern version within their brand.
The DLC contains the beautifully crafted models of the 1973 BMW 2002 Turbo / BMW 320TC WTCC, 1964 Ford Mustang Fastback / 2015 Ford Mustang GT, and 1987 Ruf CTR Yellowbird / Ruf RT 12R combo’s.
The Ruf RT 12R is also a free car for all Project CARS owners regardless of wether they buy the Old vs.New DLC pack.
The Old vs New car pack DLC is on sale for USD$3.99 on the Steam platform.

I bought the pack solely for the 'Stang and gave it a run at Bathurst against the other historic cars, well, the Escort and Merc will beat it all over the place, it's an unfair match-up, really needs a mini or something of a similar age to compete with, it even leaves the 2002 behind on the straights.

But then I was coming down the dipper in a 2002 and as I pulled onto Conrod and over the turbo whine of the little Beemer I heard another car behind me, I looked behind to see a stang on opposite lock with one wheel lifting in the air as it slid down the hill behind me and it just clicked, these are some damn fine cars, worth the purchase for sure.

I took the two new Mustangs for a spin around Road America last night and both were good. Being Mustangs they didn't stop and turn the best but that made it fun. Sideways under braking, sideways through the turns and sideways on the exits. In fact I'm still sitting sideways making this post! :D

I gave the Ruf CTR a run at Bathurst after Formula Rookie fun finished. What a car! It's got some speed and was arse tightening going through the chase and braking. Going to be some fun in that in the future. :)

I dont remember ever 'investing'. If I did, I never had access to the game development that I was aware of anyway. Oh well I may aswell buy it now lol.
