Any Home designers/builders out there?
So im designing a house at tafe, and i cant get any feedback on this before submission, so need some help
I want to know what i need to hold up the roof in this section drawing: I cant have a wall as the collar ties get in the way. So What about a few SHC or similar?
included the elvation plan and section...
Thanks in advance...

you are correct, something does not look right... the load being transfered from the roof to the wall is being carried by the wall, but something looks wrong with the roof itself...
might need to see a touch more of Section AA before commenting...

They are hooks that you hang from the sky to support things or hang things from. Quite an essential piece of kit in any Tradesmen's toolkits. Quite possibly one of the 1st things Apprentices are taught.NeilPearson wrote:I dont think the band will stay there and hold up my roof forever Hz :P

Re: Any Home designers/builders out there?
okay I get it now.
here in western Australia we cant just hang things from the sky. Guess like everything its different in South Australia
What i needed was something to support the roof and the ceiling joists. I managed to get into contact with someone who told me that I can raise the wall all the way to the roof, then have a Pole Plate bolted into the wall that will support the ceiling joists
Thanks for the input guys!

Quit using Autocad and do it in Revit!
