I so wanted one of these when I was 18. I nearly sold my soul to get my hands on one

Kinda glad I didnt now. They haven't aged well :D

I pinched the pic from aussieexotics too so I assume that Ash has sat in the passengers seat of the one above ;)

Anyone else have a car they loved when they were younger but find it hard to admit to now? I assume woodsy was a P76 man, Norbs would have loved a charger and Kev does his load over old Escorts. I think Haze always wanted a Gemini too ;)

When I turned 17 I would have given my left nut to have a VR Clubsport. Then I turned all Euro snob and my tastes got far more expensive.

Contach and then F40.

I still think the Contach looks sweet and the F40 definitely still looks wicked.

Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth
1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am (also the 80's third generation model aka the KITT version!)
Pontiac Fiero (thanks to Ferris Bueller's Day Off - at least it also introduced me to the forever gorgeous 1961 Ferrari GT California)
Triumph TR7

The Sierra is just butt ugly to me now, I still respect it though... The Fiero, how embarrassing!

Actually I still think both the Trans Am look good - the 78 more so. Dad owned a car yard once and he use to drive the 78 'bird now and then... it was so awesome rocking up to school in it with the roof removed!

I still like the look of the TR7, but it certainly is an acquired taste. I liked this car a lot in the late 90's as Dad's purchased one as his mid life crisis car. I use to love driving it Dual Webber carbies and a 2.5" exhaust, it actually sounded nice for a 4 banger.

Found out over Christmas that my cousins husband owns a testarossa. Plus a 308 GTS!

I don't remember what cars I liked in the 80s. I was into planes and trains when I was a kid. The only cars I really paid attention to were race cars.

I reckon I can say with some confidence that I was playing multiplayer racing "sims" before most people on the forum. Having said that, I have always thought it was fucking ridiculous to own a massively overpowered car for the road. Unless you use it for track days, to me it is just a waste of money. I have only ever owned station wagons and a ute. Practicality before speed for me. :)
