New site for target sig images

Post by DarrenM »

Can you guys try this site and see how you get on with it?

http://statmonkey.is-a-geek.net/cycling/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Cookies for remembering the login aren't working for some reason, but the rest should be.

It only has the sig image and progress graph at the moment. Hopefully now that the tricky bits are in place I can get the other stuff done quickly.

Do any of you use the garmin site? I'd like to see if it's possible to add an option to get the data from there as well. It does Strava and Bike Journal at the moment.

It would be best if we keep it to ourselves for a few days to make sure everything is working before taking it to BNA etc.

Darren, can you look at this one..

It is reporting WAY over what he has done.

For id=83

Just my Strava number as instructed. I changed it to my son's number and it worked. Swapped back to mine and it went high again.

Sblack, who is strava # 6942 says this...

After a few attempts thanks to issue with work's system I finally got it to tell me the data was all fetched but mine is showing too few kilometres. Looking at the graph it hasn't got the rides from the start of the year, appears to be showing the past 5 weeks.

I used the number only.

For 83 it looks like he may have double clicked of the fetch button. I'll have to find a way to protect against that, but I've put a unique index on the table for the time being which should prevent it though it may cause ugly errors. I've deleted the rides so if he does the fetch again once it should fix it.

I'll look into sblack.

Speed, you'll need to change the source for yours to Bike Journal. If you've switched to strava you'll need to get your account id number from the strava site url.

Ah, problem for sblack and possibly a few others is that the strava site only returns 50 rows at a time so I only have his last 50 rides. Shouldn't be too hard to fix.

I had changed it & it's saying that my fetch is complete but when I click the Home button nothing has updated.
When I go back to the settings page, Strava is the default again.

You need to hit save for the changes before you hit fetch.

I need to change that fetch button because it can be confusing.

sblack should be fixed now. If anyone else found their total was too low and they've done more that 50 rides this year, go hit the fetch button and it should pick up the extra rides.

I've also changed the buttons on that page to try help avoid the fetch before save problem.

Thanks Darren.

Do I need to fetch data each day or just update Bike Journal as I have been.....or both? :)

Yeah, does the fetching take a few minutes to appear on the image or as soon as the page is processed? I pressed mine and it read out 0km. I'm fairly sure i've done more than that.

No, Speed. It should automatically update each night from bike journal same as the other one did.

I just put the fetch button there so that people can run it when they sign up or want to have a big ride show straight away, as I do sometimes :)

Fetching from strava can take a minute or 2. It's a pretty shitty api they have because I have to call separately for each ride just to get the date and distance. Just wait until the loading icon is gone from the screen and it should tell you when it's finished.

Bike Journal should be done in a few seconds. Have you set your details to private by any chance?

If you can't see your figures here without being logged in, then neither will the site.

I like the new fonts Darren. Looks cleaner, if that is the right descriptor.
