i've never been a huge fan of his music but i respect the fuck out of him for what he has done and the people he has influenced that i really dig.

yeah same, but I am like that with a lot of the "Pioneers".. can never seem to get in to them, but love a lot of those who are influenced. I always wonder if there is not some inside joke amongst musicians where they all get together and chose a shit artist they all plan to say influenced them, then laugh at all the people world wide say "Such and Such is a Genius" when really they picked his name randomly from a compilation album of an Era approx 35 years prior to their own.

Watched a doco consisting of excerpts of 60s performances by Dylan (and Joan Baez - phwoar) at folk festivals and concerts. It was captivating and Bib and I watched it to the end without channel surfing! Even as a young man he was compelling - his voice, lyrics and phrasing, so unusual, so passionate.
