Wonder if the F word makes an appearance in regards to the '99 Semi Final?

Fuck off Captain Rexona Suisse Vitamin, you've had your day.

They need to scrape the rusted on old prick off the SS Test Team before he flukes another big score.

I reckon his eyesight is fading, he can use his experience and guile to get by against the slower guys and at the First Class level (India were that at best last season) but when facing the front liners he regularly seems a beat to slow which suggests to me that he is not seeing the ball. It has been going on too long now to be a form thing.
Could be wrong, just guessing of course.

Ha, on debut, first ball bowled by Faf du Plessis goes for 6!

Not too many would have had that happen I reckon?

If you didn't know any better, you might think this man had only been introduced to cricket about 10 seconds before this photo was taken! All of that for a delivery of under 130 kays, something seriously wrong there!

From the Cricinfo running commentary:
BJ: "du Plessis becomes the second debutant in the past couple weeks to be carted for six off their first ball in test cricket. Sohag Gazi got the last laugh and took care of Chris Gayle, but somehow I doubt du Plessis is gonna get a chance to replicate that feat..."

This can all change in a big hurry of course but SA are in big trouble here - almost down to 2 effective bowlers in Steyn and Morkel. Kallis is gone, Tahir is being belted senseless and Kleinveldt has not shown anything on a flat track yet.
Their next best option is du Pleiss who did not seem to settle well in his first over.
Seems Steyn is resorting to Bodyline here as a last resort, Quiney and Cowan must be slapping themselves in the sheds.

And now Steyn seems cooked, maybe going for a holiday between Tests was a bad choice?

World record for most Test runs without being dismissed is 497 by Tendulkar. Clarke currently 431.

Pup can really put in a performance when it's required. Good on him.

Hope we can take this test and hopefully we don't get too complacent.

EDIT: To add to this:
After his double century at the Adelaide Oval in November 2012, Clarke became the only player in Test Cricket history to score 4 double centuries in a single calendar year. This feat also includes an unbeaten triple century.

Amazing stuff. Did he end up beating that 497 without being dismissed today at stumps? I wish I could have been watching this today. I saw the 200 come up and Hussey belting a six as I was packing up at work.

From memory Dex, he is 488 at the end of play. He could get to 600 I reckon. He is in rare form and it is a road and they have 2 front line bowlers who have had a full day in the field.

Is it mainly just a flat track providing this batting? I hope it's not going to be a draw because the pitch has nothing in it. Fingers crossed it starts to crack up a bit.

RSA are down bowlers too. Kallis is gone. Steyne looks rooted and the rest aren't performing.

And do not forget Philander never even made the XI, but it really sounds like they bowled a whole heap of pies - the 'spinners' especially. A good sign of terrible bowling is the number of boundaries hit and the Aussies really cashed in there.

The spirit of Cronje rife in the RSA team? What were Australia's odds going into this game?
