I believe that Moose ended up in 86 pieces.

Re: My 2012 Toyota 86
First mod to the car. Had to share. Was quite easy and it only took 1 hour and 26 minutes to do.
Bought a Toyota flip key off ebay. I could make excuses like the other keys on my key ring are so similar that its easy to pick the wrong one (and that is true) but Im just wanting to be a cool kid. Had the blank cut this morning and after I tried it to make sure it worked in the ignition, I moved on.
Need to go from this to this:
step 1, pull apart a perfectly good key
Insert bits in to new key
and then we have a new key

That's one sad ad. So mistaken, so bloody mistaken...altho I can see it talking to those who care little for their family. Yeah, that's great.
Surprise, no sig. Now there is. Or is there?

Sad but also really honest I felt. There are women out there that are exactly like that. I thought it was interesting as Toyota apparently created then pulled the ad soon after. Funny how its still acceptable to poke fun at under-the-thumb husbands (Harley Davidson did something similar, just didn't push as hard) but its not yet ok to flip the coin.ysu wrote:That's one sad ad.

Re: My 2012 Toyota 86
Finally run in.
Been sticking to the recommended procedure of keeping the revs at no more than 4000rpm unless in an emergency. The only time I exceeded that on rare occasions was maybe to 5000rpm. Normal driving is changing gears at around 4000rpm anyway so I certainly didnt need to contain myself to stick to the procedure.
Well I hit the 1600km mark yesterday so job done.
And today I gave it a belt through the rev range and can now see what they say about it being sluggish up to 4500rpm. It then comes to life and I very quickly ran out of highway speed limit with 3 gears still to go. I still dont think it is sluggish at low revs but I can see that it comes alive beyond the normal driving mode. I will no doubt be back to driving it like a grandpa in a Camry tomorrow.

Nice - the engine seems to cop the most of the negative opinions with the 86. The guys on OzRenault who have tried the car certainly think it's the weakest link - and that's not really a lack of power thing either as the Clio pretty much matches it for power. I'd love to have a drive in one so I can actually form my own opinions though!

Re: My 2012 Toyota 86
yep. timing was rightSelling it already
thats what she saidWow that was quick...
you guys will know second after my wife but lets just say there is a journey coming. I no longer wanted a car that might as well have been a Yaris for the way I drove it. I want to play again.So....what's next....
Yes and No. Its over 12 months old but low km's. I would say I got a solid "demo" price for it. Of course I lost, but I feel if I had waited, the drop would have been more which is fair enough.Wouldn't have lost much on it?
