Arsecraft Server updates
I have just updated the server to 1.3.2 and Since no one has been on in forever, decided a map change is apon us.
I have put in LARGE BIOMES. if its not liked, then it can be reverted back to normal, but i think its a good change. the map is going to get huge. Let it i say!
Im currently downloading the old map, and when its done ill zip it and upload it for everyone to download if they wish.

Re: Arsecraft Server updates
Cheers Neil, I've been playing Tekkit mod pack for the last couple of weeks and evaluating how stable the server is and thinking it might be worth a crack as an Arse server, check it out and see what you think, and maybe we could give it a run for something different.

Re: Arsecraft Server updates
I'm still playing from time to time with the weekly builds. They're adding a bunch of new stuff lately including a new boss which looks pretty cool.

It would be good to have a central project everyone could contribute to, like the arseville town you guys made a while back. Something you can go work on when you get bored of doing your own stuff.

Re: Arsecraft Server updates
never tried it, but i have heard good things, is it compaitble with 1.3.2? is it compatible with mcmyadmin? if you can figure out how to get it on there, do it.
I was actully thinking if better than wolves ever gets SMP compatible to throw that on there. I like by the way because there arent many "magic blocks" that do a whole heap for you. you have to design your own automation. But who knows when that will be available.

Re: Arsecraft Server updates
Probably wouldn't be much good for the server. Everyone would have to use the same version and there's a new one most weeks. I guess tools like mcmyadmin would work since it's basically just a newer version of the game. You just have to copy the jar file to minecraft\bin manually. They're posted to http://www.mojang.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; on Thursdays.
Don't know if you can even get all of that new stuff in creative mode yet. The powered pyramid they had in the last build was pretty cool but they've taken it out of this one.

Re: Arsecraft Server updates
I'll look into the tekkit/McMyAdmin compatibility when I get home, the client side is easy as it runs completely separate from minecraft and installs to its own directory, and the Tekkit launcher keeps everyone on the same version just like the mc launcher does.

Re: Arsecraft Server updates
Could a few of you blokes take a look at the Tekkit site linked below and see if it's something folks might like to try out? Just need to work this out early on because it will require a map reset if we decide to give it a crack.

Re: Arsecraft Server updates
If you want give it a shot go for it, if the server won't start remove the nether_ores.jar file, I've never got the tekkit server to start with it enabled.

Re: Arsecraft Server updates
okay tekkit is now on the server. i had to remove the nether_ores.jar
all you have to do to get on is download the technic launcher, run the launcher, set it to tekkit on the left side. then login like normal. once in put in the server IP details and your in.
would people be keen on leaving notenoughitems in? from what i can tell there is so much stuff in tekkit its just crazy. be easier to leave the "creative smp" mode in so we can just build for once? and once we get bored of it we can move back to normal?

People without admin privs shouldn't be able to spam in stuff Neil I believe, try removing your privileges to check because you really need nei for the search interface, it's just too hard to remember all the recipes.

It's easy enough to find the recipies here
http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Minecraft_Wiki" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
EDIT: Oh, tekkit as well. I missed that bit
