Looking for a new wheel
Totally had it with the Momo now. What a waste of money. No point sending it back and getting a new one, cause it won't fix how shit this wheel is (mainly the pedals).
Here is the result of my frustration.
Is there a quality PC wheel available? No more plastic, I want a sturdy wheel that won't stuff up in a matter of months. I'm prepared to pay up to $500.
The actual wheel is still alright, it's accurate, but it does wobble a bit and makes a clunk sound when going over the centre position. Looking at getting the whole kit, but I could just get some new pedals.

Just found a review of the momo and cutters wheel in one.
http://www.tomshardware.com/consumer/20 ... index.html
Toms Hardware isn't highly regarded, and I can see why. This is an excerpt from the Momo review:
"The pedal set, however, is all health and strength."

Harvey norman near me has 2 left.
It seems someone over ordered about 2 years ago.
$320.00 ish tho.
The wheel feels great.
But its not a "chunky" or "Full" as the Momo.
Its a bit thinner on the wheel, but more solid in the bearings.
The FF is fine, I only have it on around 50%, plenty for me.
Maybe you should come to the BBQ Chaz, both on show........

Just read the review.
Not seen that before.
I was put onto this wheel by a guy in the NASCAR series I run in.
He said " Its a girly wheel, small and petite, but shit its good."
Yeah, it is different from the MOMO. The MOMO seems so chunky now.
The clamping systems a breeze, never moves, ever.
The additional buttons, with the application software are all you could want.
the pedals do slide tho, I had to make a brace to stop them moving.
I wish they had the MOMO pedals spikey bits.
End of the day, its different, it is very much a F1 wheel [like i'd know]
Its accurate and precise. and constant.
the FF is fine and I never have the "cant find wheel" USB issues I had with
the MOMO. It fires up first time, every time.
I will buy another soon, just in case, tho I suspect I'll not need to open the box.

I sent a Momo Force to Adelaide from Canberra a year or two ago and postage was $25 so I'd assume you wouldn't be looking at much more than that.Cutter wrote:Bendigo.

Got a new wheel today! Same as cutters, the Thrustmaster F1. Had to go up to Bendigo to get it. I rang a few Harvey Normans in Melbourne, but none seem to have it in stock, or didn't know what a thrustmaster was. They had 4 of em at Bendigo with $350 on the box. The guy gave it to me for $299. While the guy was writing out the invoice, I had to give him my address etc. He asked me what I was doing in Bendigo, he thought i was having a holiday or something. I said that I came just for the wheel. He was like "wtf". It was pretty funny.
Anyway, the wheel feels great, very solid. The pedals dont feel like they will stuff up in my lifetime, they are metal and built tough, but we will see. I had a couple of problems in setting it up. The wheel was off center and the brake pedal didn't go to 100%. I fixed that with DxTweak though, and now its perfect. I'm not sure whether I like the Momo wheel, or this wheel. The momo's buttons a better placed, on the thrustmaster you have to reach for them. The shifter paddles though, are way better on the Thrustmaster, they are metal. I'm still getting used to it, I was playing LFS before and was a bit rusty. Once I get some practice up (havn't played LFS for a couple of weeks), I'll be able to tell if its up for the task
Heres a pic
