So I’m assuming this series will only be on the new Disney streaming equivalent of Netflix. Wonder what the costs are.

A Kenobi series is coming too right, I'm not really going to bother with any of it, movies or tv, rightly or wrongly I've slowly become quite anti Disney.

The trailers for The Last Jedi really don't look good at all, bringing back the Emperor is just a joke that's a total disservice to everything that happened in the original trilogy, this trilogy never happened as far as I'm concerned.

However right when I'd pretty much given up any hope of Disney doing anything decent with Star Wars I saw the Mandalorian trailer and that actually looks like it could be ok so I'll give that a chance.

The Force Awakens already rendered everything that happened in the original films pointless. They clearly didn't bring peace to the galaxy or anything useful. In fact, their actions ultimately led to something worse than the Death Star and the deaths of millions. :p

Perhaps Vader and the Emperor's plan was actually the right one after all. :D

First episode of the Mandalorian was good. They certainly haven't spared any expense when it comes to the production values.

Not sure how well it works having a character who's a man of few words while not having facial expressions to sell the mood etc. But overall I enjoyed it. 2 thumbs up.

Kinda wish I could binge since it looks like it'll be one of those series that feels like a long movie chopped into parts. But Disney need it to establish their streaming service I guess.

I actually thought he talked too much. Was a great first episode. Probably the coolest robot Star Wars has had, and the ending was unexpected and very cool.

The IG droid was cool and they had a couple of trandoshans in the bar so that's ticked off two of the stereotyped bounty hunter types. There was quite a lot of fan service for a 40 minute episode.

Really really good... I've never watched anything other than the movies so forgive me if I'm not upto speed on all things Star Wars.

Great to see some old characters especially the droids & bounty hunters.

Carl Weathers could have been Lando Calrissian's relative.

Was it just me thinking the Blurgg's looked like sperm with limbs?

The IG droid was epic...

Surprisingly the ending wasn't that surprising to me... Both my boy & I guessed it once you saw the capsule...

But it sure opens the intrigue of the whole story.

But I have to ask, are we meant to (or expected to already know from other Star Wars stories/shows) the backstory of The Mandolorian tribe as it was referred?

Since Disney trashed the old EU I'm not sure what stands as canon in the SW universe anymore. They have carried through some elements like the armour made from beskar and the fact there is a "tribe" at all so we'll see.

The expanded universe. Disney made it so all the books, comics, games etc created before they bought the franchise didn't actually count anymore - so they could dictate the path of Star Wars content in future without restriction.

Ah OK, that's good for me as I was a Star Wars freak in my younger days but not in my later years so never got into the so called EU...

The first episode of The Mandalorian was decent but not great in my opinion, there just wasn't much meat to the episode overall and then it abruptly ends, it could have done with a good 10 minutes more to flesh things out better. There were a lot of little things that didn't make much sense and too many little nods to classic Star Wars. Having a recognisable alien roasting on a spit is an obvious nod but adds very little in my opinion. The reveal at the end also makes little sense except in relation to an iconic character, I guess more will become clear as we go. I am intrigued to learn more of the back story of the Mandalorians from what they've teased. We'll see, hopefully it improves with more episodes, I see the next episode is out already.

2nd episode was good but feels like it's building to something later in the series. I was hoping IG-11 survived but doesn't look like it.
