I'll give you that it is a pictorialist image. Something I like but polarises others.

I guess it depends entirely on the look you're after.

You should always try to make your photos sharp but it's not essential if other considerations force a compromise.

Oh no!

Technical difficulty

Can't get the "bulb" option when using the wireless remote control

Presumably it will work if I buy a wired remote control?

I have always used the hard wired variety and never experienced that.

I'm a Canon user if that helps.

I use wireless and it works fine. I have bulb on my mode dial though, then switch the shooting mode to 2 second delay (the same you might use if you wanted to set up the camera on a tripod and run to a group of people to get in the shot). This mode also has a little wireless/IR logo. There's no delay when using the remote though. I know Nikon shooters who use wireless too for long exposures, it has to work somehow.

I got a wired remote from ebay for my D90 and can definitely do bulb mode. The button locks "on"

Gotcha.

Set it all up , aperture, speed to bulb etc, then the last thing you do is switch the shooting mode to remote.

First click opens second shuts

Winner!

And just worked out the remote also fires the old nikon d60, meaning could fire two shots from two cameras at once.

Not sure what I could do with that though!

Nice shots, ND filters can be fun.

I have a Singh-Ray vari ND which is awesome for what I use it for, (Edit- controlling the depth of field in portraits), but vignettes really badly used wide.....which would be what the majority would want it for, I think. :)

Yeah faster moving water there. Don't really need an ND filter to do that though I'd say.

Have a look at some shots by Michael Kenna, some of his stuff is awesome.
